It’s Saturday! The Possum has the right idea in his new anti-scream bed, all snuggled in. Nope, it doesn’t really work, but he likes it a lot. And after all, following his chitty past, he deserves perfect poofy comfort. ❤️❤️❤️

We all love it when a dog eats. Eating is a generally a good sign. It has literally taken months of coaxing and hand feeding, but Hoxie has found his groove. He's decided he's a big boy and he can dive in on his own. He still appreciates a good handfeeding, but it makes my heart swell when I see him dive face first, making a complete mess of himself and everything around him and enjoying his dinner.

Today on Tommy's Tursday, the little burrito is stuffed in his bag waiting for his opportunity to whip out the plastic. It may be a new year, but it's the same song and dance. Tommy only wants things for Tommy and once that happens the Pekingese Property Laws can kick into effect....but we have other things to accomplish. Tommy Tommy Tommy......

Can you believe it? 2025 is here. We are so grateful for your support during 2024. The laughter, the tears, the arrivals, the sweet farewells and the tearful "Goodnights." The gifts you have given us to support the dogs who live here for whatever reason and the dogs who come here because safety is here. The book, Serving the Leftovers, hit the retail shelves December 1st and so many of you have read it and sent kind words and posted reviews. We are the most blessed. May you all have a healthy and safe New Year's Eve and a healthy, peaceful and meaningful 2025. From all of us to all of you....oops, hang on...the dogs are getting party ready.......

Once again, I was aiming for some cute calendar pictures of Pete on the nice green grass (LOL), but to no avial. Pete was interested in one thing and if he couldn't find that, then he refused to cooperate.... It's ok. Pete can do as Pete pleases. Mommy Person is still happy with that too....

As it turns out, after Arnold's visit yesterday, Tommy now thinks he's the great hunter and thinks he caught the armadillo and is going to keep him. Well, there is a little truth to that...it is an armadillo of sorts and he did catch him and he is going to keep him, but it's not exactly Arnold. It's an imposter. Don't tell the Burrito. Thank you Pam for the Arnold gift! It's loved by all, not just Tommy!

I know some of you don't have guys like this around where you live. Some days we have just Arnold and some days he brings all of his friends. They stay out of the yard, so it offers the dogs entertainment. Once upon a time, we had a Great Dane named Alfred. Alfred was so excited to see Arnold, he put his mouth on him and picked him up. It only took about two seconds for Alfred to have a full on freak out and drop Arnold right back where he found him...

Today on Tommy's Tursdays, we find the little T-Tom doesn't seem to have arms long enough (go figure, he's not Feedler!) to get his pig that he threw under the buffett. The pig sits and waits while Tommy starts moving into full panic attack because he can't reach his rubber pig....Rather than phone a friends (the wolf, security or Feedler) he looks to the Mommy Person to grab the pig for him...sigh. All day. Everyday. Tommy.......

A Christmas Lemmy. ‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, the dogs were all stirring, but Lemmy stayed out. He watched through the window with his intense little stare- in hopes that Mommy Person would soon appear there. He could see inside - the dogs all making a clatter, when Tommy looked out and said, “Aw Lemmy, what’s the matter?” He didn’t go shopping or have a play date to meet, but if he came on inside, he would get a dog treat. As he sat and pondered his job to pour beer, he barked “Merry Christmas to all— but drinks will be served out here!” 😂😂😂

It's a good thing The Possum is a tiny screamer or he may not get away with all that he does. A daily habit of The Possum is to perfect his Soupy. His idea of Soupy perfection is taking a nap on top of whomever he chooses to share a bed with. So far, no one has complained. It's funny how they let the oldsters get away with so much! Of course, The Possum is blind and maybe he just thinks we offer heated pillows......

Saturdays are for pictures! It may not make it on time for the holidays, but there are 12 months of 2025 Pekingese pictures ready for order! Here are more of the out-takes that didn't make the cut! We've had so many requests to hear The Possum's songs of his people! We deliver! Be sure to turn it up to get the FULL EFFECT of every day life here at Liz E.s! LOL! He's a screamer, carrying Uncle Mortimer's torch. Think of this like the commericals from back in the day....The greatest hits album with all of your favorites including the holiday spirit to 80s rock and country! You can order yours today by calling 1-800-THE-POSS. No need for us to have any peace! And please note, NO he is NOT in pain. He's a talker. Once he gets what he wants and is assured humans are near, he stops.

Today on Tommy's Tursday, Tommy wants to be abundantly clear...Just in case Tommy ever comes over to your house, be warned, he will find what he wants and he will take what he wants, even as Drac stands by and advises him otherwise. No questions asked and no stopping the little T-Tom Burrito.... Shopping, fwimming, drumming and toys. ALL his. Squeaky pigs from Aunti Rhonda are among the favorites along with the blood puppy and farm animal friends. LOL!

For years, JenaSota, Mork, Mongo, Myron and Isha stayed lined up next to Mommy Person's side of the bed. In recent months, with Mork and Myron's declining health, I made sure they had their spots to themselves so they could rest through the nights. When Myron left, the bedside was empty. I asked the dogs if they would mind piling back in at night to help Mommy Person rest. When I woke up, this is what I found. Angels of hair and protection covering the floor of the bedroom. 💗

12/17/2024

As I work through the feelings of Myron's absence--the feelings we all know too well--I wanted to share a trip down memory lane with you, our Fb family of supporters. I do my best to not hover over graves, to keep my sights on things above and fill my heart with gladness and gratitude. Even though I watch this video through tears, I am aware of and in awe of the magical days the dogs give and receive living here at Liz E.'s. I have spent much time on the floor, asking the dogs for extra hugs for the Mommy Person. Most are happy to oblige....minus Edgar and Slide....Isha is standing strong by my side.
