Hoxie eats with vigor
We all love it when a dog eats. Eating is a generally a good sign. It has literally taken months of coaxing and hand feeding, but Hoxie has found his groove. He's decided he's a big boy and he can dive in on his own. He still appreciates a good handfeeding, but it makes my heart swell when I see him dive face first, making a complete mess of himself and everything around him and enjoying his dinner.
Arnold
I know some of you don't have guys like this around where you live. Some days we have just Arnold and some days he brings all of his friends. They stay out of the yard, so it offers the dogs entertainment. Once upon a time, we had a Great Dane named Alfred. Alfred was so excited to see Arnold, he put his mouth on him and picked him up. It only took about two seconds for Alfred to have a full on freak out and drop Arnold right back where he found him...
Tommy's pig
Today on Tommy's Tursdays, we find the little T-Tom doesn't seem to have arms long enough (go figure, he's not Feedler!) to get his pig that he threw under the buffett. The pig sits and waits while Tommy starts moving into full panic attack because he can't reach his rubber pig....Rather than phone a friends (the wolf, security or Feedler) he looks to the Mommy Person to grab the pig for him...sigh. All day. Everyday. Tommy.......
The Possum's greatest hits album!
We've had so many requests to hear The Possum's songs of his people! We deliver! Be sure to turn it up to get the FULL EFFECT of every day life here at Liz E.s! LOL! He's a screamer, carrying Uncle Mortimer's torch. Think of this like the commericals from back in the day....The greatest hits album with all of your favorites including the holiday spirit to 80s rock and country! You can order yours today by calling 1-800-THE-POSS. No need for us to have any peace! And please note, NO he is NOT in pain. He's a talker. Once he gets what he wants and is assured humans are near, he stops.
Tommy does as Tommy pleases
Today on Tommy's Tursday, Tommy wants to be abundantly clear...Just in case Tommy ever comes over to your house, be warned, he will find what he wants and he will take what he wants, even as Drac stands by and advises him otherwise. No questions asked and no stopping the little T-Tom Burrito.... Shopping, fwimming, drumming and toys. ALL his. Squeaky pigs from Aunti Rhonda are among the favorites along with the blood puppy and farm animal friends. LOL!
A day in the life of Myron "Big M"
As I work through the feelings of Myron's absence--the feelings we all know too well--I wanted to share a trip down memory lane with you, our Fb family of supporters. I do my best to not hover over graves, to keep my sights on things above and fill my heart with gladness and gratitude. Even though I watch this video through tears, I am aware of and in awe of the magical days the dogs give and receive living here at Liz E.'s. I have spent much time on the floor, asking the dogs for extra hugs for the Mommy Person. Most are happy to oblige....minus Edgar and Slide....Isha is standing strong by my side.
Myron aka Big M
I walk to the bedroom. He's not there. I see his favorite bed by the fireplace. He's not there. I watch and wait down an empty hall. He's not there. He's not coming. My morning preparation no longer requires that he has all he needs because he's not here. Myron left us peacefully, sleeping thorugh the night and into the morning as he was led to another place. A place in my brain of heaven and hope filled with peace, friends, health and love. Almost eight years ago, Myron was left in a shelter. Then a few weeks later, sent to us because his new 'parents' said he pissed on everything. They didn't know, but we are the ones who won the prize. Myron was among the best. I always pictured Myron as the father figure of the dogs of the house. Myron was no frills. Easygoing, mature from the start, always waiting with patient anticipation, loved to go everywhere, never a complaint. We gave him everything. Someone mentioned the loss of Mork (three months ago) seemed like the end of an era. This year, JenaSota, Mork and Myron left my side. Each were here for the duration because someone else didn't want them and I fell in love with each of them the moment I saw them. I know they came to help me heal from the loss of Moe all those years ago. Each one slept by my bed every night. They kept an eye on me, I kept my love on them. Each now buried next to the other. No one gets to decide what a year is going to bring, but these three brought me healing and now a sense of absence and loss. Big M. .............You're not here.........................................................
Big M Myron
As they get older, the hallway gets longer. But again, I'll take the small wins. Myron wanted to come scruff his face on the baby gate and take his nap in the bed at my feet. It's not exciting, unless you love a senior dog--if you know you know. Whatever you want Myron, Mommy Person is right here, at your service. I'm grateful for your time with me.
