Important Update from Keep Their Tails Wagging

You may have noticed a slow down on our post since Sept 1. We are still around but we want to share a quick health update. Due to some ongoing health/medical changes, we are temporarily not taking on new clients until we have more answers and can give 100% again.

Our main focus is on our established clients. For those that had meet and greets on the books. I am going to try and get to those next week.i apologize for not being able to give anyone firm or clear guidance. One medical appointment usually leads to two more appointments and once we meet sith the surgeons we will have a better timeline.

🐾 Current clients please know your pets are still our top priority, and we will continue to care for them as scheduled. There may, however, be a slight delay in responding to messages, emails, or calls. This has taken a toll on us due to the stress and appointments. We are staying postive that we will get good news in the next two weeks.

We truly appreciate your patience, kindness, and support during this time. 💙 Thank you for trusting us with your furry (and feathered!) family members.

I will have a blog post up on our favorite dog-friendly places in South Padre and Port A/Corpus we visited while on break. I unfortunately did not get many pictures…. but Cinnamon favorite were clam strips from Doc’s in Corpus and peeing on the sand castle piles. And Sage was just happy to spend time with her favorite human, but also loved Pier 99, which has a lovely dog menu and the food is served on frisbees. Cinnamon at 18 years old has aged out of the majority of boarding facilities.

I was asked by a client to try and get Hopscotch “saddle broke (saddle ready)” this summer. 🙄
10/10 Hopscotch does not recommend, endorse, or want anything to do with th3”see shenigains. Hopscotch agreed with the influence of treats not to bite or kick me. Small victories.
Though she did try to catch a few nibbles while I was feeding cattle. But she is a nibbler on a normal day
The longhorns? Just there to steal food and silently judge.

We ere so happy to be able to facilitate this transition. Has Colin said Earl and Henry went from being City Goats to being country goats. We were happy to help them find a new home after their owner’s, due to medical reason could no longer care for them safely. It has been a bit of a transition for Henry and Earl, being introduced to 12 new goats, but they are slowly settling into their new home and getting use to not having their nightlight put on for them every-night. And added bonus’s we get to see them almost everyday.

One thing I didn’t have on my pet & ranch sitting bingo card? Porcupine kicking. 🦔🥴

Sweet Hopscotch found that out the hard way and ended up with a swollen fetlock. Thankfully, our amazing mobile vet came right out, and while she healed, she spent a week reluctantly bunking with the little goats (who were very excited about their tall friend joining them).

Now the real challenge: is convincing Hopscotch that the halter and lead aren’t a one-way trip to vet visits and pokes. She was just recently halter trained though I really hate that term. It’s all about trust and partnership, not “breaking” anything.

Every animal has a story, and I’m here to care for them through the calm and the chaos.
