A very heavy heart I had after hearing the passing of the incredible, Linda Lavin. She was not only a client but a wonderful friend whom I was able to share very deep conversations with. No words can describe the enormous amount of love and creativity she gave to the world. I grew up with her on TV. Back in the day, the whole family would sit and watch the tv show, Alice, as she really brought us all together. Sending lots of love to the family. Such a big loss. ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 I miss you Linda. It’s just so hard to say goodbye to people you love. ❤️❤️❤️You deserve your eternal freedom. ✨✨☀️✨✨

We had our annual Dog Beach Day in Santa Barbara yesterday which included a little potluck, walk along the beach and quality time together. Some dogs had never seen a beach before! So it was a joy to see everyone having so much fun. 😎 Thank you everyone who was able to attend. I know a few people were planning to come, including poor Louie, who got hit by a car the day before. ❤️‍🩹 But he’s OK now. He is on the mend and didn’t break any bones thank goodness! It was so nice and cool when we got there and by the time lunchtime came around the skies were blue. We had a beautiful time!

Party in the Grooming Studio! Some of you knew that I am also a certified groomer. I’ve been doing a lot of grooming since the rain🫧🫧🛁🫧🫧. So, I wanted to make the dogs, smart and beautiful so I got certified as a trainer as well as a groomer. I celebrated a birthday recently, and I would say that it was the best birthday I have ever had. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by so many nice, kind, and real friends. Thanks for everything!

Group Obedience Classes will resume this weekend and we will be adding a new class for the month of February-March. Registration is open for the March-April Group Obedience Classes beginning the first weekend of March. I hope you are all practicing in between classes! I am grateful for all of the people who have already signed up for the March classes!!!

We sometimes use grassy areas for dog training classes but, Basic Obedience is normally held on a parking lot with lots of space. This is because we want to have the least amount of distractions and when you’re in grass, sometimes there are other leftovers from dogs or people not to mention squirrels! We continue our six week program on the blacktop. It rained last weekend so we used the park for a catch-up session.

My brotha from another m***a. I love this young, gentle protector. He’s so perfect!!! I hope everyone is faring well through these very difficult times. Please do something you love, stay active, call me for a chat, don’t get bored or sick! I’m busy getting my end of the year admin done in between lessons and dog grooming… including making Christmas cards by hand, which is taking forever🤪 but it’s fun. Cricut machines are addicting, but it takes some time to get through the learning curve. Love you all! See you soon.✨❤️✨

Switching over to the slow lane for this rescue. Two years old, came from North Carolina… I can imagine running in the fields as a puppy, and then comes having a child to the end of needing to rehome her. as you could imagine, she was over aroused, confused and zero training. We started with some crate training, communication skills and impulse control. Her barking was off the charts, no matter what was being done in the beginning of the lesson. Got some great results on the first lesson and we will move forward with the training. And this breed needs intensive training right from the beginning of their lives because too many owners realize too late and these dogs become HUGE! This is not a breed you want to have as your first dog. They are protectors and know their family is who they trust. Dogo’s need plenty of exercise every day of their life as well as clear communication and direction. Train EARLY and do not get siblings as this will be a lifetime of competition and too hard to manage. These two are siblings but live in two different homes & environments so it works out having different lifestyles and space.
