Say hello to Moo, the cutest black-and-white bundle of joy you’ll ever meet. Moo is full of playful energy—she loves chasing toys, climbing anything she can, and pouncing her way into your heart.

She’s curious, smart, and always on the lookout for her next adventure. Whether she's batting at a feather wand or curling up for post-playtime cuddles, Moo is sure to keep you smiling.

Moo is looking for a forever home where she can keep being her silly, affectionate self.

If you are interested in taking home a great new addition to your family please email Hannah at [email protected]

Say hello to Bucky! A volunteer took him on a day hike and had this to say: "He didn't pull much at all. He was appropriately obedient. He was interested in humans and other dogs and didn't growl or bark. He loves getting pets and is super friendly.
We got coffee, which he thought was just OK, and then we took a break in the grass under a shady tree, which he loved. He's quite the cuddle bug."

This happy-go-lucky pittie is all about good times, paw thumping zoomies, and toy time! He loves to gallop around showing off his toys like the proud goofball he is. He’ll happily show you his favorite toy, and either run next to you or straight to you with it. It’s adorable how he tries to include you in his game, but even if you’re not actively playing, he’s content just being next to you with his toy. When playtime winds down, Bucky’s favorite spot is right by your feet, happily chewing away and keeping you company. He’s got a big smile, a bigger heart, and he’s ready to find his forever family!

Swiss is a little chaos engine will purr as soon as she looks at you, take a head scratch, and then dart off to tackle her sister. She is a sweetheart who cuddles hard and plays harder. She would love to go to a home with her sister, Queso, or with another cat who can be an equal sparring partner.

Come visit the Burbank Animal shelter to adopt Swiss!!!

Lincoln and Lana recently went on a day hike adventure with two volunteers:

As regulars on the shelter’s Happy Tails hikes, these siblings are willing participants in the harnessing process. Once the leash is on and you get moving, manners might be less of a priority but you can’t blame them for being excited to explore the world, given their rough start in life living inside a car. And while this history used to make them extremely hesitant to hop in and out of the car, they’ve conquered this fear masterfully and prefer using the floorboard for entry before taking turns sitting on top of each other once they reach the seat. Important note - if knucklehead comedy is your vibe, these two will endlessly entertain you with their playful affection for each other.

Once on the hike, they can pull a bit, but only because they are super duper psyched to smell all the smells. Twice. Their etiquette improves with time, so routine outings and training will quickly bring them up to speed. In the meantime, you can thank them for your very toned biceps and triceps. They like to keep track of each other as they go, with kissing being the preferred method for check-in. Despite being young, active pups they are just as eager to take breaks as they are to scale the trail and will happily plop down on top of each other to rest after determining that both of them lapping water from one bowl makes way more sense than each drinking from their own. They prefer to do everything as a unit, please and thank you.

Following the hike, they had a nice nap in the park. Again, making sure to be close to each other and to us. They have a fondness for using your shoe as a pillow and sometimes keep a paw on you while they sleep.

Brother and sister are great with people and social, wanting to say hi and get pets from everyone. Lincoln will sometimes be protective of his personal space and his sister’s personal space when it comes to other dogs - but only if the other dog crosses a boundary. This is likely a guardian piece owed to their Catahoula mix. The other piece (among many other possible things) is Lab - the vanilla cupcake of dogs - so you know what you’re getting there.

Their personalities really shined on the hike - plenty of goofy and maybe a little spacey - with a special skill to twist their leashes into configurations akin to holiday lights tangled in a box in your garage. But time and patience and training will work out those kinks. Above all else they have lots of love for each other and will have lots of love for you.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Lana and Lincoln.

Naomi is a sweet but shy girl who isn't sure why she's at the shelter. She hasn't shown much interest in treats or toys and she's still getting used to the new sounds around her. What she does like is pets, especially around the head and neck. She'll even purr in appreciation. When she's had enough attention, Naomi will let you know by walking away. (A true cat!) Naomi would probably do best in a quiet home where she can have her own space once she's had enough attention from her humans.

Looking for a nice furry roommate who will hang out with you, but is also fine on her own? Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter and meet Naomi!!!

One day, a little wad of dryer lint was dropped off at the shelter in a cardboard box along with several other week-old kittens. Two months later, Dryer Lint is now a beautiful gray tabby boy with a big personality who loves to play and has a whole lot of love to give. When he’s not chasing around toys or wrestling with his sisters, Dust and Smudge, his favorite place to be is in your personal space, preferably curled up on your chest while purring loudly in your ear.

Dryer Lint LOVES people but he would probably get sad and lonely if he didn’t have his sisters to cuddle and play with while the humans are away. We hope to send him home with at least his sister, Dust, or to a home with another cat he could be pals with.

To learn more about Dryer Lint, please email Nicolette at [email protected].

My name is Mayla. I am a spayed female, black and white Pit Bull Terrier and Cane Corso. I'm looking for an experienced owner only. I'm a very sweet girl once I know and trust you, but I will need and adopter who has the time to properly socialize me.

Mayla is a cuddlebug and loves having her belly rubbed. If you have the time and the room for this big girl, come visit her at the Burbank Animal Shelter and ask to see her out of her Kennel.

Bentley is a sweet, affectionate kitten who purrs the moment his favorite human walks into the room. Bentley is playful, curious, and full of love. He takes a little more time to warm up to new situations, but once he feels safe, his silly, snuggly side shines through.

He’s happiest when he’s close to you. Whether curled up on your chest, tucked behind your knees, or even perched on your head like a little fuzzy hat. Bentley is the kind of kitten who follows you around like a tiny shadow, offering soft purrs, gentle looks, and plenty of quiet affection. His playful streak comes out most when he’s with someone he trusts, especially his brother Benny, who helps him come out of his shell.

Bentley thrives in a loving, patient home where he can continue to build confidence and he would love nothing more than to be adopted with his brave and bouncy brother, Benny.

If you’re looking for a cuddly, sensitive kitten who will reward your love with nonstop purrs and sleepy snuggles, Bentley is your guy.

If you’d like to meet Bentley, please contact his foster mom, Stacy, at [email protected] or 559-556-9990!

Astrid had her portrait done at the Ruffly Drawn Fundraiser, and we'd say it came out looking great!

Astrid is our longest pet resident, and she has officially spent more than 2 years at the Burbank Animal Shelter. Although we wish Astrid would be spending another year in a home of her own, she's making the best of it at the Shelter, and now she is a regular on our Happy Tails hikes! Astrid’s size can be intimidating to most, but this girl is the goofiest, most playful and sweetest dog of them all. We are thankful she has thrived at the Shelter for so long and are thankful to the volunteers who give her constant attention, socialization and yard time to keep her healthy and happy while she waits for her perfect furever home.

Astrid is a giant galumping goofus. This XL lady (140lbs!!!) really has no concept of how big she is. She’ll bounce and play just like a little dog- just for a fraction of the time. She does love play time, and scratches, and getting brushed when she needs help with seasonal shedding. It’s a LOT of fur, make no mistake. Her zest for life and all things fun is somewhat irresistible. Because of her size and her puppy like playful nature she’s not a dog that is easy to fit into the average home. She needs space, humans who are strong and patient, a section of a room that can be just hers because that’s how much space she takes up, regular exercise and confident training techniques. Astrid is looking for someone with large or extra large dog breed experience. Anatolian Shepherds are not recommended for apartment life. They are relatively inactive indoors and will do best with at least a large fenced yard. Her future owner will have to continue working with her on socialization with other people and dogs to make sure she is an upstanding citizen for her size and breed. Astrid must be the only pet in her new home.

Someone out there must be dreaming of a silly Anatolian Shepard and just hasn’t seen her yet. If that’s you- come meet Astrid at the shelter. Otherwise, please share her info to your networks!

Astrid's adoption comes with a free month of training from GoodPup.com to ease her into her new home and help her bond with her new family.

Benny is a playful little bundle of joy with a huge personality and an even bigger heart. Always on the move, he loves to chase toys, explore every nook and cranny, and pounce his way through the day. Curious, energetic, and endlessly entertaining, Benny is the life of the party. Once he’s had his fill of fun, this affectionate boy turns into the ultimate cuddlebug.

He adores people, gives the sweetest little kisses, and insists on being the first thing you see in the morning (he takes his greeting duties very seriously). Whether he’s suckling your finger for comfort, curling up right beside you for a nap, or upside down on his back waiting for belly rubs, Benny is full of love and looking for a human to share it with. He’s especially close with his brother Bentley, and the two are often found playing or snoozing side-by-side! Benny would love to be adopting with his brother Bentley.

If you’re looking for a playful, loving kitten who will fill your days with excitement and cuddles, Benny is your guy!

If you’d like to meet Benny, please contact his foster mom, Stacy, at [email protected] or 559-556-9990!

Say hello to this beautiful bonded duo: Sneakers (husky) and Boots (German Shepherd Mix). A volunteer spent time with her and had this to share:

"These 2 stunners are super sweet, in need of a spa day to get those winter sheds handled, and pretty chill when we hung out. Boots is the braver of the 2- coming up to me immediately and bring super curious and trying to hog all the pets being offered. Sneaker is way more shy, slower to warm up and content to hang back a little and just get her measure of me. Once we were hanging out for a bit they both determined I was pretty nice and knew all the good places to scritch and even had a pocket full of treats. We were limited in space, so I didn’t get to see them play or cut loose, how they behave on leash or around other dogs- maybe next time we will. I can say they were very gentle with me, even when pushing each other around. Not particularly reactive to the noise and movement going on around us. I was expecting to get pummeled by young playful dogs but they were very kind and polite. I was honored when Sneaker decided I could give pets and even a kiss on the head- since she’s so shy. We went slow and I had her smiling by the end. They’re really a lovely fluffy duo of ladies that would make for a great family completing pair."
