Porsche gets her name because she thinks she's a formula one race car driver. She's actually just a rookie but she'll climb in the rankings fast! Her brother Ferrari currently maintains the lead.

Porsche is shy and quiet but maniacally playful. When it comes to hard play, her petite frame does not stop her from playful challenges with her brother, Ferrari. They are both a fireball of energy when operating at maximum capacity but when they tire, the naps can be long.

This little girl is very sweet and gentle and has silky fur as soft as a baby's skin. When she’s ready to snuggle, she’s sure to nap against you but will usually snuggle with her brother if they're in a better place. She will often chat, trying to tell you what's on her mind but holding her usually fulfills her needs.

Porsche and Ferrari are very close and will need to stay together.

To learn more about Porsche and Ferrari, please call or text their foster mom, Carla, at 818-216-5477.

Adoptions are 50% off from now until September 10th!

Meet Captain, a 2.5-year-old German Shepherd looking for his forever home at the Burbank Animal Shelter! This handsome boy is as sweet as they come—he loves people, is friendly to everyone he meets, and is a fantastic companion for car rides. Whether you're headed to the park or just cruising around town, Captain will be right by your side, happy and calm.

A volunteer took Captain out for a day hike: "The day hike with Captain was great. He hopped in the car easy and was a great passenger. We walked to get coffee and then hung out in the backyard. He loves getting sprayed with water, being brushed, and chasing the ball. He was great with my two kids. We then ran some errands and went on another walk before heading back to the shelter. He is strong and pulls on the leash, but he seems very eager to please so I bet just a little bit of training would help him alot. "

Captain's adoption comes with a free month of training from GoodPup.com to ease him into his new home and help him bond with his new family. Captain is best suited to go to a home where he will be the only dog and can be the center of attention,

Captain would love to be your new best pal. Come meet him and make him your new fur baby.

Hi there! I’m Inkus 🐾. I’m a shy but super sweet soul who absolutely LOVES being petted. I really like pets and scratches around my head, ears and neck. Find the right place and my purrs will get much louder!

When I first arrived at the shelter with my two brothers, I was really scared and stayed frozen in my cozy little box. I wasn’t sure what to think of this new place.

But the amazing, patient volunteers kept visiting me, bringing me delicious treats like Churu and chicken fillets, and slowly, I started to trust them. Over time, I realized that pets are the best thing ever! In fact, I love them so much that I start purring the moment I recognize certain people, even before they touch me! 😽

It still takes me a little time to warm up to new faces, so I’ll often be tucked away in my cozy box. But I still love it when visitors come by! I would thrive in a calm, quiet home with patient, understanding cat lovers (no small children, please) who can give me the space and time to come out of my shell.

If you think you’d understand my gentle nature and want to meet me, I’d love to meet you too! Just ask a volunteer or awesome staff member to help set up a meet-and-greet. I can’t wait to find my forever home! 💖

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to adopt Inkus!

Astrid, our longest pet resident, has officially spent 2 years at the Burbank Animal Shelter. Although we wish Astrid would be spending another year in a home of her own, and not at the Shelter, we decided to celebrate her the best way we know how! Astrid was showered with attention, enjoyed a few delicious “bday” treats and was taken on her very first hike outside of the Shelter with the help of two handlers. Astrid’s size can be intimidating to most, but this girl is the goofiest, most playful and sweetest dog of them all. We are thankful she has thrived at the Shelter for so long and are thankful to the volunteers who give her constant attention, socialization and yard time to keep her healthy and happy while she waits for her perfect furever home. Happy Birthday Astrid!!

Astrid is a giant galumping goofus. This XL lady (140lbs!!!) really has no concept of how big she is. She’ll bounce and play just like a little dog- just for a fraction of the time. She does love play time, and scratches, and getting brushed when she needs help with seasonal shedding. It’s a LOT of fur, make no mistake. Her zest for life and all things fun is somewhat irresistible. Because of her size and her puppy like playful nature she’s not a dog that is easy to fit into the average home. She needs space, humans who are strong and patient, a section of a room that can be just hers because that’s how much space she takes up, regular exercise and confident training techniques. Astrid is looking for someone with large or extra large dog breed experience. Anatolian Shepherds are not recommended for apartment life. They are relatively inactive indoors and will do best with at least a large fenced yard. Her future owner will have to continue working with her on socialization with other people and dogs to make sure she is an upstanding citizen for her size and breed. Astrid must be the only pet in her new home.

Someone out there must be dreaming of a silly Anatolian Shepard and just hasn’t seen her yet. If that’s you- come meet Astrid at the shelter. Otherwise, please share her info to your networks!

Astrid's adoption comes with a free month of training from GoodPup.com to ease her into her new home and help her bond with her new family.

Lobster is an eager to please, tail-wagger. He certainly knows the sit command and loves to get a treat as his reward. He also enjoys back rubs and behind the ear scratches. He really is one very slender, loving boy who is looking for his forever home. Nothing beats that sweet black, brown, and white Boxer face with those beautiful brown eyes staring up at you. It's definitely heartwarming to see this handsome guy. You can expect Lobster to be your devoted buddy and just like a barnacle to a rock on the shore he will stick to your side.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Lobster.

Hi, my name is Tye, but my foster mom calls me Tye Tye because I am so cute she says it twice. I love 4 things the most, eating, being held, playing and sleeping. I have a mouse that I carry around and try to keep it away from my brother Puma, we run all over the house playing that game. When I get tired I put my paws on my foster mom's chest so she will hold me while I sleep. When I wake up I'm hungry, again.

My markings are unusual for a tabby, both sides are like marbling. My foster Mom tells me that I am the most loveable of all kittens in the world.

To learn more about Tye, please contact Jeri Dixon at 818-246-2917 or [email protected]

Say hello to this beautiful bonded duo: Sneakers (husky) and Boots (German Shepherd Mix). A volunteer spent time with her and had this to share:

"These 2 stunners are super sweet, in need of a spa day to get those winter sheds handled, and pretty chill when we hung out. Boots is the braver of the 2- coming up to me immediately and bring super curious and trying to hog all the pets being offered. Sneaker is way more shy, slower to warm up and content to hang back a little and just get her measure of me. Once we were hanging out for a bit they both determined I was pretty nice and knew all the good places to scritch and even had a pocket full of treats. We were limited in space, so I didn’t get to see them play or cut loose, how they behave on leash or around other dogs- maybe next time we will. I can say they were very gentle with me, even when pushing each other around. Not particularly reactive to the noise and movement going on around us. I was expecting to get pummeled by young playful dogs but they were very kind and polite. I was honored when Sneaker decided I could give pets and even a kiss on the head- since she’s so shy. We went slow and I had her smiling by the end. They’re really a lovely fluffy duo of ladies that would make for a great family completing pair."

Come to the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Boots (A127648) and Sneakers (A127649)!

Hello, my name is Puma. You may have heard of me from my brother, Tye. He may not have told you about my beauty - I have beautiful green eyes. I am a loveable boy who likes to be held to go to sleep, mostly right after I have filled my belly. I love to run and play and jump around with my brother. We scare each other sometimes and jump high into the air, it’s very fun.

I am very curious about any new thing I run into, I must check it out, but very slowly and carefully. I like the dogs and other cats in the house even though they sometimes don’t like me. I especially like the long-haired furry cats, cuz if my human is not around it’s so comfortable to curl up in his fur for my nap. A fuzzy blanket works too.

To learn more about me, please contact my foster mom, Jeri Dixon at 818-246-2917 or the [email protected].

Sawyer is a floppy, playful, spirited puppy. He loves to play with toys just like any youngin and he is still not coordinated yet with his legs which makes him so endearing as he slips around the yard. He is quite the cuddle bug however and he will plop himself on a bench with you and put a paw on your lap. He will definitely need some training with the sit command and not jumping up on people. Sawyer is a very smart little guy so he no doubt will excel in future training. That boy is going to be one loyal friend to the lucky person who adopts him.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to adopt Sawyer!

Meet Rusty Ryan. A true orange tabby, though he doesn’t seem aware of what that means.

Rusty is a bit more reserved and cautious. He likes observing his surroundings, but once he sees his brother make the first, he will charge right into action too. His curiosity gets the better of him. Rusty is the true mastermind of the pair. He learns fast and you can’t fool this little dude. He always seems to be two steps ahead of us and knows what we are thinking. We think he might have been a tortie in a previous life, because he has an independent spirit, and has a cool attitude.

Out of the two, Rusty is definitely more into playtime. He likes to play hide n’ seek, or play with any kind of wand stick. But his nemesis is the laser pointer. He will run after it at full speed and keep going until he has to catch his breath, which can take a bit of a while.

Rusty was rescued with his brother and partner in crime, Danny Ocean. Danny is his favorite bonded playmate. Whenever Danny is getting up to shenanigans, Rusty can be found not that far behind.

This pair of brothers continue to show us that they like human attention, so we have a feeling they may become cuddle bugs in the right home. And as we fostered them, we also realized that a home that has additional cats may not be the best for them, as some behavioral concerns may arise. Because of this, we feel they would benefit in a furever home where they are the only cats, so they can soak up all the love and steal your heart, or where there is only one playful resident cat, who can be part of their crew and follow around the house to learn the ropes and cuddle with.

So, if you are able to spoil these two, and want to be part of the eleven, please contact their foster mom, Mayra, at [email protected]. With your inquiry, please include some information about your household, experience, and other pets, as well as any questions you might have for us. Bonus points if you are a Tess, or a Linus.

Say hello to athletic Ali (like Muhammad Ali). This sporty pup has ALL the energy. Ali is not a good match for a first time dog owner, home with small children or unsteady humans, folks with weak arms or shoulders, or anyone looking for a couch potato dog. That's not Ali. Ali is a go-go-go type of dog. He wants to live every moment of life to the fullest! Adventure! Exercise! Play! Laughter! Toys! More play! More adventure! He’d love a life where he had a safe yard with very high fencing, humans who like to run or hike and have a good foundation of dog experience, and of course- lots of toys to play with and destroy with impressive skill. Ali needs training- at only 9months old he’s in a bit of a teenage phase. He’s strong and motivated on leash and relatively moderate in his reaction to other dogs as he walks past kennels. Ali has a zest for play and adventure which is charming and inspiring. Don’t we all need that one friend that gets us out the door doing new things? Well, that’s Ali!
If Ali sounds like the buddy for you, come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to meet him!

Ali's adoption comes with a free month of training from GoodPup.com to ease him into his new home and help him bond with his new family.

Meet Danny Ocean. Silky smooth, suave, and the potential for a glorious tail!

Danny is an opinionated void, and his opinions mainly revolve around food. He will definitely let you know if you are moving to slow for his liking, or if you did not give him enough treats. We think he was probably the runt of the group, but this little dude can eat. He loves treats, he loves food, he loves treats in his food. He is a little garbage disposal.

Danny loves his playtime, but mainly likes to chill and hangout on the window hammock and stare out the window at the people passing by. But even though he is chill, he will walk up to one of us and ask for pets. Not only does he like pets, he really likes butt pats, and especially LOVES belly rubs. You can really get his purr motor going during a belly rub session. And though he is not that fond of being picked up, he has been tolerating it more and more, and even allows his foster mom to give him plenty of kisses.

Danny was rescued with his brother and partner in crime, Rusty Ryan. Rusty is his favorite bonded playmate. Whenever Danny is getting up to shenanigans, Rusty can be found not that far behind.

Zeus is such a majestic and regal black and tan German Shepherd. He loves to be brushed and will play fetch with a ball. The good sport will drop the ball to the side once he's caught it so you will also do your part in the game of fetch. He has the most stunning, powerful amber colored eyes that are shadowed with black and brown fur that makes them look like they are illuminated. Not only is he one dapper, gentlemanly dog he also has such a jubilant smile on his face when he is getting a good petting or brushing. He overall seems like such a happy fella. He is also a big fan of chew toys. Zeus is such a well mannered dog and clearly has such an impressive intelligence for being only 2 years and 6 months old. Whoever adopts Zeus is getting the whole package when it comes to a practically perfect dog. He is also so easy going on and off leash. He really is just a perfect gentleman in canine form.

At long last, Lana and Lincoln are finally available for adoption! These two siblings are almost a year old, so they are still pups. They are bonded and must go and stay together.

Lana and Lincoln were confiscated from a neglect situation. To say the least, they’ve grown up in not so ideal circumstances. Staff and volunteers have been working with them and taking them out into the play yard as much as possible, but they are a work in progress. They are improving, and their transition will be glorious, but challenging. They are looking for a patient owner who has the time and ability to start from scratch with training (potty, behavior, leash, etc.) We can assure you that after all of this is corrected in a new home, it will be 100% worth it! These two goofy pups are so loving and crave human attention.

Although they are strong and not yet behavior trained, we think they would be good with respectful kids and even other dogs (a meet and greet a must). Lana and Lincoln are Catahoula mixes, which is a loyal, protective, southern breed, that are good family dogs, but not suitable for small spaces, like apartments, condos or homes with no yard. This breed needs some space to thrive and given their former circumstances, deserve that space to finally be the pups they were meant to be.

Lana and Lincoln's adoption comes with a free month of training from GoodPup.com to ease them into their new home and help them bond with their new family.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Lana and Lincoln.

Ember is the wonderful mom to Keagan, Blaze and Pepper. She is playful (enjoys joining the kittens in all the games), nurturing (loves on all of her babies and takes good care of them), and resilient (she came to her vacation foster sick after carrying her babies during the hottest part of the summer). She would love to go home with her baby pepper as they are very close. She will make a wonderful and fun addition to your home!

Gobber is such an affectionate and friendly little 5 year old black pug. He seems to be very trusting because he will sit by you immediately and stare up at you with really cool glowing brown eyes. He's very precious and loving with that sweet little black and gray furred face staring back at you. He seems to really enjoy cuddles and pets. Gobber has an adorable underbite which just adds to his endearing, unique personality. Those little ears that flop down are just so cute it makes one's heart melt. To the lucky person or people who get to adopt Gobber, they will no doubt have a wonderful new fur family member. He will be such a loyal companion sitting by his future people's side. He is all heart and seems to have a really big heart for such a little guy.
