She loves wrestling her siblings and chasing her toys, when she’s not taking long naps. Her gentle eyes and soft snuggles make her a natural at winning hearts. Say hello to Nicole. This dog….. I’m in love. She is so sweet and gentle- the first thing she did in the yard after getting to know us, was ask for belly rubs and FALL ASLEEP! Knocked out totally. I’ve been doing this a long time, and that was a first. Once nap time was over, we convinced her to play a bit. She’s a bit silly and adventurous as a husky is, but was also very inquisitive and methodical- which reinforces the idea that her rising sign might be at play too. She was so just… easy to hang out with, as in she was interactive but also fine doing her own thing. She's a little chatty in her kennel, but barely made a peep in the yard with us. It’s been a long time since I wished for a husky to call my own (I’m normally just not the suitable home for them-despite my affection) but this one…. She made it hard not to bring her home. If you have always loved huskies but were worried about their energy level and stubborn streak- Nicole just might be what you’re looking for. Head into the Burbank Animal Shelter and see for yourself oaf she’s your soul dog- cuz she’s definitely someone’s.

Meet Dora! 🐾

Dora is a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd who came to the shelter with two other Shepherds. She warmed up to the volunteers right away and quickly showed her gentle, affectionate nature. Dora loves to give as much love as she gets, and her constant smile makes her even more endearing.

This gorgeous girl has the cutest floppy ears that bounce like little wings when she walks, a detail that perfectly matches her sweet and playful spirit. Recently, she and her brother Dozer went on a hike and were absolute champs tackling the trails. Dora clearly loves being outdoors, taking in every sound and scent of nature.

She’s just as happy to trot around the yard and explore as she is to lie down and relax by your side. Despite whatever challenges she’s faced with her Shepherd family, Dora always seems to wear that bright, happy smile. She’s a lovely, positive, and truly beautiful girl inside and out.

Hi, my name is Floofy. I am a very sweet young lady cat who loves people. I enjoy being petted and hanging out with my foster mom on the couch or bed. However I am not a lap cat. While I do love a good nap, I also revel in chasing small balls and toys and I sometimes will bring them to my mom to throw for me. I have the most adorable fuzzy feet. Check them out in the photos!

When I came to the shelter I was pregnant, and I had a litter of four cute kittens. They all went to good homes, and now it’s time for me to find my forever home.

For a while I had to fend for myself on the mean streets, so I am pretty territorial. I would do best as an only cat. I have never met any dogs, so I am not sure how I would like them.

A volunteer took Lisbeth for a day hike and had this to say: "Lisbeth and I had a great morning. She's great on the trail. One cannot confuse her excitement and kennel anxiety for her real self. Within 10 minutes on the trail she fell right into my stride and never pulled once. I also love the way she checks in throughout the walk, a really good listener. She had no reaction to bikes, dogs and our awesome Burbank sanitation department who all wanted to spend time with her. "

If you are looking for a sweet girl who knows her commands, lovely Lisbeth is the girl for you. Lisbeth knows sit, down, shake, and will even sit calmly while you put her leash on. She will bring you her toy and drop it at your feet after she has romped around the yard with it. At approximately 5 years old, she is the perfect combination of calm and fun!

Cheese is a gentle but playful boy. At times he can be a bit rambunctious and will let you know when he wants to play. He loves attention and uses his little squeaks to let you know how he’s feeling.

He is a bit squirmy while being held, but has learned to love a nap on a warm lap. This little darling has started to become quite cuddly and appreciates being pet;
often rolling over and purring.

He is the perfect balance between energetic and sleepy and is a sweet boy to come home to.
