I’ve been waiting for Barney to become avail for a little bit now. He’s just super charming and handsome and fun. Obviously a corgi mix of some sort (the legs and coloring kinda give it away) he’s got a regalness to him when he’s sitting and pondering. Pondering what? Life. Society. You. All of it. But then- you throw a ball and his true silly nature comes out and you get to see the real Barney. He’s a great sturdy but smallish size that would do great in just about any home environment. My exposure to him was that he was minimally vocal- but no guarantees since the shelter can be a unique environment. He definitely likes to play, and was very open to being my friend, and would do great as a long walk partner. He deserves a home that will let him both ponder and play in equal measure, and will let him know what the boundaries are so he can be safe and happy, and wants to make him as much a part of their daily life as possible. Oh- and adopters must be generous with ear scratches cuz he really likes that. If you think that might be you or someone you know- head into the Burbank Animal Shelter to meet him for yourself!

One day, a little wad of dryer lint was dropped off at the shelter in a cardboard box along with another dusty little kitten. Two months later, Dryer Lint is now a beautiful gray tabby boy with a big personality who loves to play and has a whole lot of love to give. When he’s not chasing around toys or wrestling with his sister Dust, his favorite place to be is in your personal space, preferably curled up on your chest while purring loudly in your ear. Dryer Lint LOVES people but he is happiest when he’s also with his sister, Dust.

Dust is a gorgeous tabby girl with endless kitten energy and a big personality. She shows off her impressive jumps to catch toys mid-air and will stare down a vacuum, daring it to come closer while her brother runs and hides. She isn’t quite as cuddly as her brother, but in the mornings she is frequently found under the blanket with her foster mom, cuddled up right next to her.

Dryer Lint and Dust do everything together, and will sometimes cry out if they lose sight of each other. They spend their days playing together, wrestling over toys, looking out the window together, and cuddling . We’d love for them to continue their shenanigans in their forever home together, and we are looking to adopt them as a pair.

With these two, you will never feel bad leaving the house knowing that they can keep each other company. If you want endless entertainment watching the funniest little cats jump around playing together, this dynamic duo is for you!! 😸

Senior Spotlight with Captain! This guy is about 11yrs old with the face of a puppy. He’s sweet. He’s teeny. He’s adorable. He’s a fan of ear rubs. He’s friendly but not overly friendly. He likes to play with toys and have carefree time. He also has clear boundaries. He doesn’t like having his face messed with much and he has some resource guarding issues. He will also use up all the space on your phone because you can’t stop taking pictures of him. No dog is perfect- they all have their personality specificities to consider. Older dogs can be the perfect choice if you want an easy going friend who won’t wreck your house and will understand that couch time is sacred. You do have to be up for working with the personality they come with and make the best of some quirks. but in return you’ll get the bestest buddy you could ask for to keep you company. Sound good? Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to meet Captain and see if you’re ready for a man of his stature. :-)

Yogi is not the right dog for an inexperienced Bulldog owner. He will require an owner that has had this breed and understands the care and medical needs required.
Yogi lived a short time with a family who took him in after his owner passed away. They had another dog, and Yogi was overly aggressive with that dog, so much so, they had to relinquish him to the shelter. He will need to be the only dog in the home. He will also need to go to an adult home only, with no children. He has issues with possession, so he must go to someone who is able and willing to work with him on this.

Now for the positive things about this cutie pie……he loves his belly rubs, he seems to be pretty well potty trained (will need to learn a new home routine of course) he loves to play with toys and cuddle in a nice soft dog bed, and if you are a fan of freight train snoring, well look no further.

He likes to take shorter, casual strolls around the block (in cool weather only) and will not require a lot of exercise. Because he is Bulldog, he will need to live in-doors with air-conditioning in the hotter months and heating in the winter. His breathing issues are much more heightened than a normal, well bred, Bulldog and adverse weather can be dangerous for him if not cared for properly.

If you think you are able to give him a home like the one needed and described above, please ask to meet him out of the cage. It might be a perfect match.
Kennel Staff only to approve adoption and go over medical history. Thank you!

Meet Biscuit! This cute little tabby is a whirlwind of whiskers and fun! Playful and energetic, this kitten is always on the move—chasing toys, pouncing on shadows, and showing off just how quick those tiny paws can be. But after the zoomies settle down, she turns into the ultimate cuddly companion, ready to snuggle up and purr her way into your heart. She also has a brother, Cheeto who is up for adoption as well.

Snoopy is a gorgeous young fella, with a ton of love to give! He is what we describe as "naturally caffeinated" at the young age of 6-7 months old- he loves to romp and play with his foster sibs and enjoys a good zoomie session in the morning & evening. He's eager to make friends but a little shy, so going slow and letting him take his time to warm up is the best way to win him as one of your best friends. He is a little leash reactive to other dogs, but off leash made friends really fast with the other dogs in his foster home- especially the smallest one who is now his bestie. He's not overly food motivated, and won't take treats at all if he's anxious or overstimulated. He eats meals well and has responded to treats for training once he got comfortable. He LOVES toys and has made it a mission to take everything out of the toy box at least once a day, and rotate through chewing on them all. He's started to play fetch, bringing toys over he wants you to throw for him, tennis balls are a favorite. He loves to be with people too- following us around the house, making sure he always knows where we are. He taught himself how to use the dog door on day 6, and has adapted pretty well to being in the crate at night or when we leave the house- although he will fuss a bit for the first few minutes.

Snoopy would love a family that either has other dogs (not a good fit for a cat home) or can set up some playdates with dog friends semi-regularly. He would love humans who like to walk and hike and are eager to bring him along as much as possible. He wants to share in your life as much as he can, including sitting on the couch with you at night and following you into the bathroom at a mostly respectful distance. He will need training and patience as he is still growing, learning and testing boundaries at his age. We're working on leash manners, but he's already got a solid Sit command- very smart boy! Snoopy mainly just wants to be loved and have fun with his humans and enjoy every day to its fullest in a safe and dedicated home and family.

Snoopy is in a foster home and not housed at the shelter. Please contact [email protected] to arrange a meet and greet.

Say hello to dynamic duo Princess and her baby Pea!!! The cute level with these 2 is off the charts! Princess is a bit of a teen mom- she’s only about 1 yr old herself, give or take. Pea is just about 11wks, give or take. Together they are a wrestling, playing, chewing ball of fun. We’re keeping them bonded because they’ve already been through a lot together and have so much fun together. Getting a bonded pair can be extra work but also the most fun ever. They keep each other busy and entertained, taking that workload off the humans- but that does mean you’re training and teaching 2 dogs at once, so it balances out. These 2 have a lot of energy so they definitely will need training. Pea is in a particularly mouthy stage (normal given her age) and needs to learn all the basics. Princess is super loving and enthusiastic but also needs all the starter training. They will need full attention and commitment to training for a while, but will develop in to being best friends to their humans and each other. That's a pretty solid up front investment in our book. One of the most reliable investments you can make these days. If you’re interested in meeting them and learning more- head into the Burbank Animal Shelter and fall in love with these goofs.

Kali is a sweet girl who was so scared when she first came to the shelter, all she did was hide under a blanket. But after a few visits from patient volunteers and a lot treats, Kali transformed into a totally different cat. She enjoys visitors to her kennel and absolutely adores being pet. There is no such thing as too many pets and snuggles. She's even started playing. Sudden noises put her on alert, but there's no more hiding for Kali. She would love a home that's on the calmer side, where she can be spoiled to her heart's content.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to adopt Kali!

My name is Bruce. I am a neutered male, white Alaskan Husky mix. The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old.
A volunteer who takes Bruce out on hikes had this to say: We went for a walk in Griffith Park. Bruce is great in the car- no problem getting in or out. We walked for about an hour with a few breaks and he did great - loose leash the whole time. He didn’t react to any other dogs that we encountered. He did pull a bit when he saw the squirrels playing but I corrected him and he listened right away. He’s a great boy!!!

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter and adopt Bruce!

Hi, my name is Liam! I'm a young and friendly little boy. I like to be held and really enjoy when people pick me up and carry me around. I also like laps, *lots* of pets and attention. I really enjoy when the volunteers come to visit me in my condo and when they take me out for playtime and lap time. I'm a bit of a talker and will meow for you, especially when I want more pets and attention!

I'd love to go to a home with nice people who like to play, snuggle, and give me lots pets. I'll happily follow you around and be your best friend!

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to adopt Liam.
