Oleg is a big boy who enjoys people who visit his kennel, especially if they offer pets or treats. He is quite the foodie and if you happen to offer a second helping of canned food, he appreciates it. Being brushed is a favorite pastime. At 10 years old Oleg knows what he wants and can be quite talkative until he gets it. While he doesn't seem to mind the other cats around him, he doesn't want much to do with them either. He would probably do best as an only cat.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to adopt Oleg!!!

Say hello to this beautiful bonded duo: Sneakers (husky) and Boots (German Shepherd Mix). A volunteer spent time with her and had this to share:

"These 2 stunners are super sweet, in need of a spa day to get those winter sheds handled, and pretty chill when we hung out. Boots is the braver of the 2- coming up to me immediately and bring super curious and trying to hog all the pets being offered. Sneaker is way more shy, slower to warm up and content to hang back a little and just get her measure of me. Once we were hanging out for a bit they both determined I was pretty nice and knew all the good places to scritch and even had a pocket full of treats. We were limited in space, so I didn’t get to see them play or cut loose, how they behave on leash or around other dogs- maybe next time we will. I can say they were very gentle with me, even when pushing each other around. Not particularly reactive to the noise and movement going on around us. I was expecting to get pummeled by young playful dogs but they were very kind and polite. I was honored when Sneaker decided I could give pets and even a kiss on the head- since she’s so shy. We went slow and I had her smiling by the end. They’re really a lovely fluffy duo of ladies that would make for a great family completing pair."

Hi, my name is Floofy. I am a very sweet young lady cat who loves people. I enjoy being petted and hanging out with my foster mom on the couch or bed. However I am not a lap cat. While I do love a good nap, I also revel in chasing small balls and toys and I sometimes will bring them to my mom to throw for me. I have the most adorable fuzzy feet. Check them out in the photos!

When I came to the shelter I was pregnant, and I had a litter of four cute kittens. They all went to good homes, and now it’s time for me to find my forever home.

For a while I had to fend for myself on the mean streets, so I am pretty territorial. I would do best as an only cat. I have never met any dogs, so I am not sure how I would like them.

To learn more about Floofy, please contact Michele at [email protected]

My name is Bruce. I am a neutered male, white Alaskan Husky mix. The shelter staff think I am about 5 years old.
A volunteer who takes Bruce out on hikes had this to say: We went for a walk in Griffith Park. Bruce is great in the car- no problem getting in or out. We walked for about an hour with a few breaks and he did great - loose leash the whole time. He didn’t react to any other dogs that we encountered. He did pull a bit when he saw the squirrels playing but I corrected him and he listened right away. He’s a great boy!!!

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter and adopt Bruce!

A volunteer took Lisbeth for a day hike and had this to say: "Lisbeth and I had a great morning. She's great on the trail. One cannot confuse her excitement and kennel anxiety for her real self. Within 10 minutes on the trail she fell right into my stride and never pulled once. I also love the way she checks in throughout the walk, a really good listener. She had no reaction to bikes, dogs and our awesome Burbank sanitation department who all wanted to spend time with her. "

If you are looking for a sweet girl who knows her commands, lovely Lisbeth is the girl for you. Lisbeth knows sit, down, shake, and will even sit calmly while you put her leash on. She will bring you her toy and drop it at your feet after she has romped around the yard with it. At approximately 5 years old, she is the perfect combination of calm and fun!

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Lisbeth!

Say hello to the aptly named Bertha. This big lady is all grown up, knows her mind, is friendly but also not in any interest of doing something just because. She’ll accept treat payment or a good reason behind all your requests. She’s pretty large so asking her to go someplace she doesn’t want to requires a good amount of convincing. She is very sweet, inquisitive, silly, clever and quite regal. She’s looking for a home that provides lots of love, long patient walks, a bucket of toys and a good sunny spot for napping. Maybe several of those sunny spots for daily rotation. Bertha is endlessly charming and I know the right people are out there for her- is it you? Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to meet and fall in love with the fabulously big Bertha.

Meet Stack of the SmokeStack twins!

Stack is a sweet, loving, curious, cuddly tuxedo/cow kitten who has very pretty amber eyes, different from his sibling.

Stack loves to be held and will let his human know that he would like to be picked up and snuggled with. He plays a lot with his brother Smoke and like him is a good jumper, climber and chaser. Like his brother he makes little noises every time you pick him up (cute meows), is good at being held (he will stay with you for a long time) and is very gentle with his humans (will notice your fingers and pat them)

Stack does really well with his brother but sometimes can use play breaks from him. He can be a bit more of a napper. He has met an older cat and respects her boundaries; he does well with adults & children too and is outgoing with families.

Stack would love to go to a forever home with his brother Smoke, or another kitten who matches his play energy, cuddliness and independence. This little boy loves humans and exploring and is used to having a kitten buddy to be around with.

His little face and sweet personality will brighten up your home and life! He has so much love to give.

If you would like to know more about Stack please contact his foster mom at [email protected]

Meet Smoke of the SmokeStack twins!

Smoke is a three-month sweet, playful, independent, loving tuxedo/cow kitten who has the cutest little black nose in all the land.

Smoke loves to wrestle with his brother Stack & chase any toy he can. Smoke is a good jumper, climber and chaser. Like his brother he makes little noises every time you pick him up (cute little squeaks), is good at being held (but likes to walk around too) and is very gentle with his humans (will notice your fingers and pat them)

Smoke does really well with his brother and is always trying to play with him. He has met an older cat and respects her boundaries; he does well with adults & children too but can be very shy around loud noises or new big groups and may need some time to get to know his new family one at a time.

Smoke would love to go to a forever home with his brother Stack, or another kitten who matches his play energy, light cuddliness and independence. This little boy loves humans and exploring and is used to having a kitten buddy to be around with.

His little face and sweet personality will brighten up your home and life!

If you want to know more about Smoke please contact his foster mom Alex at [email protected]

Meet Dax — Our Gentle Giant

Dax is a big-hearted, big-bodied softie who’s just waiting for his forever family. This handsome guy may turn heads with his size, but don’t be fooled, he thinks he’s a lap dog. If you’re looking for a dog that loves hugs, treats, and a good game of fetch, Dax might be your guy!

Dax has an easy going temperament and does well on a leash. He’s strong and can get excited around other barking or energetic dogs, but with some practice, he’s easy to manage- and after about 20 minutes of fetch, he’s very chill.

Whether he’s lounging in the house or chasing a ball in the yard, Dax is happy just being near people he trusts. He’d do best in a home that offers a mix of playtime and relaxation.

Come visit the Burbank Animal Shelter to foster or adopt Dax!
