Today we were busy making miniature Christmas arrangements in jars! Each arrangement was unique fueled by the residents’ interest. It was satisfying to create something yourself.
Thank you, Paula!

BPP's Thanksgiving Celebration! After having been without power for 17 hours the day before following a severe windstorm, we had more reasons than usual to be joyous and thankful. The caters functioned so efficiently, the staff worked as a gracious team, the pianist, Emmy Purainer, supplied background music, and the food was delicious and bountiful. Our Craft/Sewing group held a post-Bazaar sale that helped us find Christmas gifts. Many thanks to Ron and Paula and the Steinman family for this happy, yearly event!

What a wonderful day we had for our Fall Bazaar! As it ‘takes a village to raise a child’, it took a whole community of resident volunteers to have such an inspired and successful Bazaar! - from the ones who produced the exquisite crafts, the cashiers, to the soup and cookie makers, servers, dishwashers and cleaner-up-ers!
Besides the customary quilt raffle, we experimented having a “Silent Auction’ as well. You can see the pictures of the people beside the quilt they have won. All proceeds will be divided between “Mary’s House” who assists un-housed families and the Rainier Symphony Orchestra, who sent a trio to play for us. Tired but happy the sunny day ended; many here are already thinking about next year’s Bazaar!
Stay tuned to see the final results of the total funds raised after the ‘post-Bazaar’ sale at Thanksgiving.

Do we look like we are having fun? Well, we were! After hearing different residents’ responses to questions about the Autumn Season, with our Theater Group leading the way and connecting the 7 songs with their dialog, our singing group led the Fall Sing-Along! Do you see the moon? That went with the “Shine on Harvest Moon” song. Later a member of the Beatles arrived just in time to sing, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” with us! “My Favorite Things” had a revised BPP version that all enjoyed.

Our industrious BPP sewing/crafting group set out today these lovely colorful little pumpkins that they had crafted. It was a pre-Fall Bazaar sale. They were such a hit, that the ‘pumpkin patch’ was bare in a very short time.

Off to Leavenworth we went, aboard our bus filled with residents! Despite the drizzle when we departed from BPP, the sky cleared over the mountains, gracing us with a sunny and warm day for our visit. The streets were pleasantly uncrowded, allowing us to savor the scenery, peruse the shops, and enjoy a meal. It was indeed a delightful outing.

What perfect weather for our Lunch Cruise with Waterways Cruises! The captain shared such interesting facts about Seattle and pointed out sites as he ferried us around Lake Union and Lake Washington.
The lunch served was delicious and all the crew were kind and helpful. We "launched" out and had a wonderful time! Thanks for driving us there, Ron

Here we are at our Annual Summer’s End Picnic at Seahurst Beach Park. No rain, no hail, (like the day before) but a breeze from Alaska that had a few of us shivering until the sun reached our picnic area.
All staff were needed to prepare and transport residents to the park and resident volunteers helped serve the meal. It was hard to leave! Great time had by all!

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for our July 4th Celebration! You just cannot sit still with music playing that has a familiar beat! That was thanks to the musician, Lauren Petrie. Veterans hoisted a new flag, and we remembered what the holiday represented. The quilt raffle generated a good amount for the 2 veteran charities for which we were raising funds. Our picnic box lunches reminded us of picnics past with its tasty salads & chicken. Thank you BPP for an enjoyable afternoon!

She’s still got it! Vi Steinman couldn’t resist getting up to dance at our 4th of July celebration with our resident Brook Rolston. It doesn’t matter that she is 93 yrs. old! More photos coming soon of this fun day.
