Adopted: We still have only lonely guinea pig looking for a home. He is a wonderful boy who would love to get a forever home instead of being transferred to another rescue.

We are getting down to bare bones here but still have a ton of cat and dog food, new and used crates/kennels. It's on sale so it's a good time to stock up or donate to your favorite local shelter.

Have an old filter hanging around which needs a tune up? How about a bio wheel which won't turn or a Biocube in need of a fan or ballast? Well we have parts, lllooottts of them. We've been cleaning out our parts wall downstairs and have so much stuff. This is about a third of what we have. At 75% off it's a good time to fix up a backup or tune up what's on your tank.

I wanted to clarify some information on the used tanks we are selling off.

The prices include gravel (what we were using here) and their under gravel filters if you want them. Used tops and lights are also available but are priced separately.

30 gallons are roughly $50 with gravel, u.g. filter with lights and tops.
15 gallons are roughly $32.

We do have a few which are drilled for plumbing and more in a few days.

If you want a bunch of them I'm willing to work with people within reason. Please set something up by messaging (not comments, pretty please) me with numbers and offers.

Btw: I have been wiping some of them down with a mild acid solution for the water stains, they clean up real nice.

We would like to thank everyone who has come in to support us through this hard process. A extra special thank you to those who have come in on some of the crazier days. Your patience has been greatly appreciated by everyone. Bustling business coupled with some program malfunctions a few days made for some frazzled humans. Thank you all for being so very understanding!

We have ten days left until. A ton of merchandise is gone but we will have a lot left to go. Starting tomorrow we are offering:

75% off full markup items (excludes some foods, flea treatments, used items and priced as marked items)
40% dog food, cat food, Frontline and Advatange

We have a ton of our store use tanks for sale at a dollar a gallon. Lots of 30s and 15s, a few 40s. Free store use gravel (mostly bulk natural) with the tank if you want it.

We also have a bunch of carriers and kennels for sale.

Even if you dont need more stuff for your pets, 75% off is a great deal to load up of gift or items to donate to your favorite rescue or shelter.

Here are some photos of some of our remaining stock. We still have a bunch of great stuff, new and used not included in these photos. I didn't bother filtering it editing to make the photos pretty, sorry they are a bit messy. It's hard to make bins of pumps look pretty. We also have bins of small animal and reptile items priced as marked.

This is where were at y'all, starting tomorrow
50% off all cat and dog toys and treats
50% off all aquatic livestock
50% off all health and grooming supplies (excludes Frontline and Advantage)
50% off all bird and small animal supplies
20% all dog and cat foods
50% off reptile and aquatic supplies
20% off Frontline and Advantage
Lots of used equipment or new out of box priced as marked (sorry no double discounts)
We still have a few reptiles and small animals half off adoption fees

We also wanted to note since customers are asking, all clearance sales are final. We cannot refund and resell items for the higher discount if you already purchased items. Sorry.

02/17/2020

Just a friendly reminder we are starting to close at 6pm each night.

02/15/2020

Good Neighbor Vet will not be in today. The vet came down ill so they needed to cancel. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Hey everyone, we are going to start reducing our hours as its slowing down. We need time to start breaking down shelves and tanks which is difficult during regular business hours. Starting Monday the 17th we will be open from 10 to 6 each day. Sundays we will be open 11am to 6pm as usual.

To all of you which have come in to visit or support us during this hard time. Thank you. I can't tell you how much you all mean to us.

We are starting to discount more items than our adoptable pets.

50% off all dog toys and treats
50% off all freshwater livestock
40% off all health and grooming supplies (excludes Frontline and Advantage)
40% off all bird/small animal toys and cage decor (dishes, houses, perches, nest)
5% off Dog and cat foods (this is just above our cost, so will not do any really deep discounts until the last day, sorry)
5% off Advantage and Frontline (same issue as food)

We have a ton of store use items for birds, reptiles, and small animals going garage sale style. We are starting to empty store fixtures and tanks which will start to be available in a few days. We do have a list of names for tanks who will be getting called first. Tanks will go for a dollar a gallon without any supplies. If you need the gravel, filters, tops or lights we will adjust price as appropriate.

We still have still have six pigs which are looking for homes. All are between 6 months and 2 years old. Please message us if you have questions. We have had so much engagement on our posts, questions in comments are getting buried and harder to keep track of. Thank you so much for all the support!

Hey everyone,

Our biggest concern at this time is getting our animals into safe happy homes before the end of the month. We are doing half off our adoption fees for rabbits, guinea pigs, chincillas, birds, and reptiles. Dont worry; this isn't a free for all, we will still being screening to make sure adoptive families have the knowledge, ability and equipment to properly care for adoptable pets. We really are worried about getting the 3 groups of chincillas placed, so if you know anyone looking who would be a great home send them our way.

The fish have been moving quickly but we still have a ton. There is also a large amount of used equipment going garage sale style being offered starting monday. Its fish stuff mostly but also have a lot if bird and small animal equipment.

A message from our owner: I am deeply saddened to announce A Place for Pets will be closing in 30 days. This is one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. I have done everything within my power to avoid this eventuality but sometimes even your best isn't enough and hard choices have to be made. Thank you all for your love and support. I cannot express how great it has been working with and building relationships with so many of you over the years. Myself and the previous owners loved this store and being part of this community.

Karla

(I will make more announcements regarding reasons/factors contributing to this decision, why we are choosing to seemingly move out so quickly, exit strategy and clearance sales as we move forward. On a personal level I need a few days to emotionally process this decision and start executing plans.)
