Husky Puppy Update:

Our sweet little husky rescue had a rough start when she came to us after being attacked by a pack of dogs, and we feared she might lose her eye and endure lasting injuries. However, thanks to the incredible care she received during her four-day stay at the veterinary hospital, this brave girl made a full recovery! Collaboration at its finest! A few weeks ago, a compassionate woman reached out to us, seeking assistance in finding a home for these two adorable pups. Thanks to the incredible efforts of The Buddy Foundation, we were connected with the fantastic team at Forgotten Friends Mixed Breed Rescue. Their dedication led to these pups being tagged for rescue! Just yesterday, The Buddy Foundation transported these precious animals, along with eight other dogs, all the way from Eagle Pass to Austin. This is a testament to how teamwork makes a real difference! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Buddy Foundation for their daily hard work and invaluable support for OBAR, and to Forgotten Friends Mixed Breed Rescue for their commitment to helping us in the border area. We are truly grateful to be part of such a wonderful, caring community!

We owe our heartfelt gratitude to GabrielandTeresa Heredia for her incredible dedication to our tiny rescues, who were miraculously saved from the engine compartment of a truck on Friday, thanks to our brave firefighters at Eagle Pass Fire Department. Just days old, these fragile kittens require feeding every 2-3 hours, gentle stimulation with a damp cotton ball to encourage them to potty, and warmth from a heating pad. Despite already caring for two other bottle-fed babies, Terry has taken on this immense responsibility with unwavering commitment. Thank you, Terry and your family, for your extraordinary efforts in supporting the cats and kittens of Eagle Pass. Your rescue work truly embodies the spirit of community collaboration! A heartfelt thank you to the Eagle Pass Fire Department for their incredible rescue efforts once again! A distressed mama cat chose the engine of a truck as the unlikely birthplace for her four kittens. Despite our best efforts, we couldn't safely extract them. In our moment of need, the fire department promptly arrived and successfully rescued all four kittens, ensuring their safety. Now, these little ones are settling in with their foster mama, Terry, who graciously took them in. We are immensely grateful to GabrielandTeresa Heredia and the amazing team at the Eagle Pass Fire Department for their dedication and compassion. It truly takes a village, and I am so fortunate to be part of such a caring and supportive community.

🆘🆘🆘🆘PARVO VICTIM!🆘🆘🆘🆘

At OBAR, it seems as though we can't catch a break. Rusty, one of our foster animals, was found abandoned under a car about two weeks ago. Recently, he has been lethargic and weak, suffering from diarrhea and now vomiting. He is currently receiving care at the Eagle Pass Veterinary Diagnostic Center, where he was found to have a fever of 103 degrees. The veterinarians suspect he has parvovirus, and treatment has begun. As we mentioned recently, treating parvo can cost $1,500 or more. This past week alone, we've had three medical cases, leaving us feeling truly exhausted. If you could find it in your heart to spare even a dollar to help Rusty, it would mean the world to us. It truly takes a village to care for these animals in need.
