Henry's recovery is gaining momentum as he continues to receive IV fluids and antibiotic treatment. We're beginning to notice a return of his energy, a promising sign of his improving health. Although there's still a journey ahead, we're optimistic that this resilient puppy will make a full recovery.

Our beloved foster puppy has lost more weight and appears lethargic, uninterested in eating or drinking. His foster mama Meagan Whittenburghas been his biggest advocate standing by his side the whole way! The veterinarian plans to conduct further tests, analyzing blood and stool samples, while Henry is currently receiving fluids through an IV. In a forgotten corner of an empty apartment, a mama dog and her five puppies found themselves abandoned. The conditions were dire, as they were left amidst filth, plagued by fleas and ticks. Fortunately, a compassionate neighbor noticed their plight and began providing food and water, ensuring they didn’t go hungry. This generous individual also reached out to us and offered to foster the family, allowing us to assist with their placement. Yesterday marked a significant milestone as the dogs received their first vaccinations and flea and tick prevention treatment. In about three weeks, after their second round of vaccinations, they will be transported to a rescue center in San Antonio. It's disheartening to see animals abandoned, but we are grateful to have been able to intervene and offer them a chance at a better life.

Meet Cinnamon, one of the delightful pups under the loving care of OBAR! This sweet girl has been spayed, vaccinated, and is eagerly awaiting her forever home. Thanks to her wonderful foster mom Julia Bass, Cinnamon is thriving and living her best life. Rescue truly takes a village, and we are grateful to be part of such a compassionate community. Rescue work truly does take a toll on you mentally, emotionally and physically and so it’s absolutely vital for us as rescuers to prioritize our health and well being in order to stay strong and keep on keeping on! Eight adorable puppies are embarking on a heartwarming journey to Canada, thanks to the incredible teamwork of numerous dedicated individuals! A special shoutout to Jen Harrisonfor bridging the gap with OBAR and ensuring these pups were tagged, and to Endless Pawsabilities for their diligent tagging efforts and kind support! Thank you Sonia P***a with Friends Fur Life for your patience kindness and understanding as we navigated some trying times and for taggingg sweet Trudy! Rescue work is truly a collective endeavor, requiring the dedication of volunteers, the generosity of donors, the expertise of veterinary staff, and the commitment of transport teams. Without each of these vital components, our mission wouldn't be possible. OBAR is committed to making a significant impact on the lives of animals in our community, and we couldn't do it without your support. A huge thank you to Pawfectly Beautify for generously providing eight complimentary baths, nail clippings, and ear cleanings, ensuring these puppies are clean and comfortable for their journey. If you're inspired to help make a difference, please consider donating. We're aiming to acquire software to better track animals in our care and streamline help requests. Additionally, we're working on introducing trap and release programs—an essential method where animals are humanely captured, spayed or neutered, and then released back into their environment—benefiting the entire community.
