It’s been a busy week. Puppies are on mush and not drinking as much of obsidians’s milk. They are exploring outside and showing their personality. They are getting used to noises and people and younger kids.

The pups are 7 weeks old and to give you an idea what to expect when you get home I am going to list what they have been working on.

Biting: I give a low "hey" or "nah" before they are given a distraction to not bite.

Whoa: They must earn their food individually for getting puppy food which is roughly around a 1/3 cup morning(8am) and night(3pm). This is done by completely standing and calmly holding still. They are released to get food on the command, “Get it”

Target training: They must focus and look me in the eye to receive a kibble.

Stay: The pups are pushed outside a desired boundary and wait to be released. Definitely the hardest command, but we do it for safety reasons.

Socialization: They are familiar with my cats, been around another dog, been taken on short rides and in Cal Ranch, they may also walk down the street with them in my arms (individually), and they play with my teenage daughter, 10 year old daughter, and 8 year old boy.

Come: Come to you when called and have a good sense of going straight outside to potty train.

Kennel training: The pups are working on going about two hours with zero accidents in then kennel and receiving rewards in the kennel and given good socialization to sleep and travel in the kennel.

Okay. Picture overload. We are happy our puppies are excited about birds! They are getting good association with the kennel, earning their food with whoa training, target training to look is in your eyes, and even learning to stay. They are doing so much better in litter training and learning how to get to the kennel to outside with no accidents.
Collars are getting worn out so some may have different collars, but an original piece of their color to indicate the puppy.

Lots more puppy fun training the puppies to work for their food, stay behind barriers, and kennel train to calm down. They love to run and play outside even in the water which is good for this stage of development.

A day later than planned but here is the last one of that particular video who took a while calming down and that is okay. It’s different every time and they will test you to see if you will spoil them or hold your expectations!

Another fun thing the puppies are starting to do really well is calmimg themselves. You can find out who the last one was in this training session tomorrow.

Today the puppy tried some dried food in a bowl. Some didn’t know what to think of the noises of the Bowl moving around. That can be a part of their emotional resistance training! Even better is they started kennel training. Who loves to sleep without whining puppies?!
