Thanks to Charri Mcarthur our dumpster babies and three older kittens moved on to Colorado Feline Foster Rescue and PawsCo today!!! Thank you Charri!!! We also want to think the best fosters ever! Always ready to step up, Stacey Monroe, Carol Plasterer, Shelby Seymour, and Shea Graff!!!! Fostering is like a bookmark. It holds a place until they can move on.

UPDATE: This intact male dog is currently at Nose to Toes boarding facility in Stratton. He was first spotted by 1-70 in Vona, CO and made his way to Stratton. He appears to be a wire haired pointer, very friendly, has a blue, green and black Aztec collar on. No tags. If he is yours or you have any information who he belongs too, please call 719-349-1011. These 7 lab mix puppies were rescued by EPAWA Monday and put into a foster home until today when they were transported to a rescue in Denver where they will have a new life. They came out of a bad situation and we knew we had to help. They were vaccinated and dewormed a couple weeks ago by EPAWA so they are very happy and healthy pups. Many thanks go to Cindy Stewart for rescuing them and transporting to CW, Charri McArthur for fostering a few days and Nikki Hernandez for taking them on to Denver. It takes a village.

We had kind of a rough day that started about 7:30 this morning. We got a phone call about these kittens. The people that found them were desperate for help for them, so we had them bring them to us. Our wonderful foster, Megin Jenkins, stepped up to try and save them. In spite of battling all day, they were just too starved, you could literally count every single tiny rib like a little toothpicks, their hip bones were sticking out. Thank you also to Shelby Seymour and Cindy Stewart! RIP little ones 💔

🐾Another adoption update that actually happened several weeks ago! Beatrice aka Bea… who is a sibling to Hazel… was adopted by her foster family too. Thank you to Emily Heuer and family for adopting this awesome pup!! All 7 pups were amazing dogs!! Emily also fosters other dogs for EPAWA and Bea definitely helps entertain them. She has such a good temperament! We appreciate all our fosters and adopters!!🐾

This is a rant! We got a phone call about two hours ago about the first teeny kitten found on Main Street, and now we got one from McDonald’s. These two kittens were found in the trash. What kind of despicable creature does this? I am so angry, angry angry. I just better stop ..,.we live in a sick world.
Thank you to Carol Plasterer, who drove over here from Stratton to get the first kitten, and to Cindy Stewart, who is making a special trip to Stratton with the last two. I suppose it’s too much to ask these total losers to dump all the kittens in one spot so we can get them all at one time???? Stacey Monroe and Carol Plasterer will take on bottlefeeding duties because there is nobody better at it!

🐾It’s a Happy Day today because Hazel Joy was officially adopted. She came to EPAWA back in March along with 6 other siblings that ended up in a horrible neglect situation. They go into foster care until they are spayed or neutered. She has had her surgery and all healed. She was adopted by her foster family Dawn and Paul Lewton and their boys, and has 3 fur sisters. Happy Life Hazel, we know you are a lucky girl!!🐾.

We would like to thank Joe and Kimberly Castro for transporting two of our cats to PawsCo today. Next step is there Furever home! 🐾We are very happy to announce that Bonnie Bears fosters have decided to adopt her!! We are so happy because she has fit into their family so well. Her new name will be Bonita and she has a little brother Gris to hang out with. Thank you Joe and Kimberly Castro for adopting Bonita and also for transporting 2 of our rescue kittens to Denver today. We really appreciate it!!🐾

Sloan’s foster sent me a video and a picture today so I thought I would share them. It’s such a shame, but at least she’s going to get a happily ever after …. she would have died out there in this brutal weather we have been having.

Schatzi Update

Schatzi’s left leg was amputated on Monday. This video was taken on Tuesday. She is doing really well and likes her foster brothers. She is in much less pain now; she has been renamed Sasha by her PawsCo foster. We are very grateful to the Kit Carson County sheriffs department for all of their help investigating this. They have filed charges with the district attorneys office. We do have a case number. We would also like to thank Madison Martin at PawsCo for jumping in when she saw the picture of Schatzi and wanted to foster her. Having a second kitten victim helped this case. Also thank you to Stacey Monroe and Amber Davis, Dempsey, for catching Schatzi and fostering her here. Hopefully the people that are responsible for shooting these little kittens are held responsible.

Here are the 7 four week old kittens that were pulled out of a stack of tires very late last night. Seven more that will not grow up or die feral off the streets of Burlington!

UPDATE:: The kitty has returned home!! MISSING CAT!! This cat went missing yesterday around the 300 block of Cherry Street in Burlington, CO. His name is Smokey and the owners are desperately looking for him. If you have any information, please call or text 719-343-5172 or 719-343-3371

🐾Three more EPAWA kitties are headed west to Denver today to find new homes. They were found back in November abandoned in a bush, cold and starving. EPAWA took them in, got them medical help and nursed them back to health. Thank you to our wonderful fosters… Shannon Albers for giving them the best care and Ashley Feskey for stepping in and helping when needed. Also Thankyou to Terrill Bartels for making the trip to Denver today!! The plan was for Saturday but Mother Nature had other plans!!🐾

Happy national dog day to one of our current foster pups , Rocky, and to Lizzie Sue, one of our former dogs who was lucky enough to find an awesome home. We sure would like to find one for Rocky.

🐾🐾Update on our boy Otis!!🐾🐾After being found abandoned and in very bad shape… he is now enjoying life and doing great!! What a difference love and attention makes!! Otis is very happy and feeling so much better since he’s been to the vet and gotten all fixed up. Good food and care has helped this guy become a pup again. We are so grateful for our fosters who dedicate their time, compassion and love to help these abandoned animals!!❤️🐾🐾

From so scared to be touched, to pet me again! When we first brought Bonnet in, she was terrified of about everything. Four days later with patience, love, kindness and lots of attention, Bonnet is doing great. Yay Bonnet! Such a beautiful and sweet girl!
