Bit end concho’s measure a smooth 7/8”… Soft, supple feel with quality craftsmanship behind it!!! The Browband I dyed to match/throatlatch, I got lucky…;) it’s full size w/1-2” adjusting room out… included are the Matching tips for crown… I’m fresh out of nails…;(

When both of these pieces came in at the same time, although highly unlikely, they need to go out the same way….😉

Vintage **Champion” 1/2” wide dbl stitched Headstall & Romals…. Both piece’s had a once over w/Skidmores and I may have added all the silver that’s on them…😎Headstall is Arab size. Crown was flipped over so makers mark was visible. Overlaid sterling silver Mexico is marked on buckles. Trophy bridleloops are Silver overlay also. Can be replaced easily with your own set… Then, 1-1/2” silver bars where too cute to pass on this one and made by the late Broken Horn Saddlery….Rein measures 47”. Shortened Romal is 34” and is secured by 2 Chicago screws at ring. Popper standard 12”. Both are extremely supple with no other hang ups. $175 BPS$11

A Vintage (marked “E S” )1 ear Headstall w/rawhide & chocolate braiding. The leather is 5/8” dbl stitched, freshly cleaned, conditioned with Skidmores. She’s super supple, offering some pretty neat silver as well… the original, engraved buckles, I’ve never seen before but assure you, even without markings…. We’re dealing with some good quality stuff…. Tips & bit end concho’s alone put me thru about 4 buffing felts… There’s a letter “E S” on the crown tip.. Not the slightest who that is, but I’d anyone knows? Blast it here!!! Comparable to CowBoy Tack/Dennis Moreland!! Grab it QUICK!!!☺️

In the midst of the overflow of interest in a particular Headstall, pictured yesterday in my “what’s to come” post, I’ve decided that for the better of my becoming as well as setting some ground rules (because our horses are expected to have them, right?) it’s time to make some overdue changes… There’s been 3 different platform shortcuts for msgs regarding listed items… it’s almost impossible to keep track and nothing makes my eye twitch more than hearing “I sent a msg first”… I need, for the sake of offering each of you the same fairness, to narrow it down… So, starting right now… the only msgs that will be returned will be those that are sent to this page… JWVintage. Understand our friendship status on FB will not be affected, but you WILL be redirected back here…

Along with that I’m setting forth the OPTION of everyone being able to throw what they’ve got at an auction style listing. Not every item, but the special, attention grabbing pieces….Those auctions will be 48hrs long. Beginning on (Fridays 5PM PST-Sundays 5PM PST) only. With a Hard close. History of Fleming Silversmithing

Erik Fleming ( Swedish Silversmith, shopped named Atelier Borgila)

After finishing high school in Sweden, Baron Erik Fleming studied in Germany to be an engineer and architect. He became a silversmith by chance after dabbling in the craft, according to an article in “JCK Magazine” by "European Designer Jewelry" author Ginger Moro. In 1921, he opened a metalsmithing business in Stockholm called Atelier Borgila. He was known for his commissions for the Swedish royal family and even fashioning a humidor for Winston Churchill’s famed ci**rs. His work, while high in quality, also included household wares and jewelry aimed at a more average clientele.

In 1949, an article in "The Rotarian," featuring Fleming (a member of Rotary International), states that 35 skilled craftsmen carried out his designs at that time. Several well-known metalsmiths worked with Fleming on a freelance basis over time, including Sigurd Persson, Birger Haglund, and Stig Engelbert. Atelier Borgila also collaborated with Danish silversmith Anton Michelsen’s branch in Sweden at one point. Fleming also taught silversmithing at the Stockholm Arts and Crafts School.

Fleming’s oldest son, Lars, took over the company after his death in 1954. He continued to run the business until 2005. The entire entity was sold to a new owner at that time, including the name and the company's celebrated design catalog, which included several jewelry pieces.

Speaking of versatility… This nicely stitched, 1” wide, vintage, hard working basket stamped breastcollar is marked “CHAMPION” on the 3/4” tugs. Alpaca marked silver oblong buckles/keepers. Center “PICO” style concho is marked (can’t make it out) but cleaned up real nice (May be plate?)to add just enough to make this one worthy of any task!!

This Dainty Vintage Breastcollar dripping in silver marked “MEXICO”…. My recollection is Billy Royal punched a bunch of tack out with this exact silver and recently I’ve had a few pieces!! Nice bright silver, rope edges thru out the conchos/bars which measure 3-1/2” x 7/8” down to 2”x1/2” wrapped up in a matching 5/8” buckle set on the tugs!! The. leather is soft & supple. A really nice piece to have & would compliment any working cow/ranch Versatility or reining class..😉

Here’s those Vintage romals that are Unmarked, but remind me of a set of Simco’s I had as a kid… Rein measures 46”, romal is 45”. Popper is a sturdy 10-1/2”.. Looks as though someone reinforces the stitching with a heavier string at some point, doesn’t affect or take away from them at all.. I added some nice rope edged marked “Mexico” silver bit end concho’s & a whopping 1-1/2” concho on the popper!! All the ferrules are clean and free of any sorted imperfections!! $125 BPS$11
