Boone County Animal Services is open today for any stray intakes and response to animal-related emergencies. For other non-time sensitive related services such as dog licensing or general inquiries, we encourage you to utilize our website or call the shelter at (859) 586-5285.

While Boone County public services and safety personnel will be working around the clock to help keep residents safe, Boone County Government buildings will be closed due to inclement weather on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025.

Essential personnel will report to serve our residents during the winter storm. Our primary mission to is protect public safety. All departments will be reachable, and the following critical services will be staffed:

- Boone County Sheriff’s Office
- Boone County Public Works
- Boone County Public Safety Communication Center (911 Dispatch)
- Boone County Animal Services
- Boone County Assisted Housing
- Boone County Building Department
- Boone County Judge Executive Office
- Boone County Occupational Licensing

Learn more about these departments and how you can contact them via email or phone. Residents are also encouraged to call 859-371-1234 for any animal control emergency.

Additionally, state offices and courts have been closed, including:
-Boone County Attorney
-Boone County Clerk
-Boone County PVA
-Justice Center (including Circuit Clerk, Circuit Court, District Court and Family Court)

Boone County Government offices are expected to open for normal business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
