have learned alot about the breed and the dogs as
individuals. They have become our all time favorite
breed. We live in the country and have a large fenced
in back yard. Our adult dogs have a doggie door to the
outside so they are able to go in and out of the house
as they wish. They all live with us and not in kennels. We do crate them when no one is home for their own
safety. Sometimes they s

leep with us too! I can't tell you how much joy and comfort they have
brought us and yes sometimes they get in trouble. They have big personalities in small packages. They have a tough
nature and are brave, determined, investigative and
energetic. They have long luxurious coats and are one
of the most popular breeds according to the AKC
registration statistics. Is a Yorkie the right breed for you? Yorkies are easily
adaptable to all surroundings, travel well and make
suitable pets for many homes. Due to their small size,
they require limited exercise but are willing to walk with
you anywhere. They need daily interaction with their
people and if you keep their coats long they need
regular brushing. The standard size range is four to
seven pounds.
