Just wanted to share some pics of Playing Aces N Vegas (Ace) and Streakin NTaMoonlite (Buckshot) from when we competed at Christmas Cash in Amarillo, TX right after Christmas.
While we fell in the cracks as far as payout goes, I was happy with how both boys worked.

Streakin NTaMoonlite (Buckshot) and I made our very first performance run yesterday and it was the first time that I really hustled him on the barrel pattern to see if he'd handle the lead change to the second barrel. While it wasn't the prettiest of runs, I sure was happy.
This was a futurity sidepot and he ended up 1st in the 2D and won some money.

So Ace (Playing Aces N Vegas) and I had a really nice weekend at the Jody Motley Memorial barrel race. We won checks in the open and novice horse, as well as being 5th in the average in the Novice Horse 2D.
We also took checks home in the Diamond Classic side pot.

Ace (Playing Aces N Vegas) and I competed last weekend at the Royal Crown barrel race in Rock Springs, WY.
While we didn't quite have the runs that I was hoping for, we did win some money in the Royal Crown Senior sidepot as we were 3rd in the 4D.

I also did testing for Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome on eight of our mares.
I did have some questions about doing this test, and I emailed UC Davis to ask them about testing my mares, as several of them are either daughters or grand daughters of my mare Plaudit Starynite (ApHC).
I had done testing on some of her daughters and granddaughters before I got their response and come to find out, if a mare is negative, her offspring will be negative since a producing stallion can't carry the gene.
Here is my email and UC Davis' response back to me:
Hello,

I apologize for the delayed reply.

A male horse that has the AR variant for AIS is expected to be phenotypically female and sterile, so if the stallion is phenotypically normal and has produced foals, he would be expected to be N/N (normal/clear) for AIS. If a female horse has been tested and is N/N, there would be no need to test her offspring. Verifying parentage of the offspring to the mare means that the offspring should be clear as well.

I finally have the EJSCA results back on my two mares, Big Duke's Comet (ApHC) and Fabulous In Diamonds (AQHA). Both mares are negative for Equine Juvenile Spinocerebellar Ataxia.

I ended up doing Equine Juvenile Spinocerebellar Ataxia testing on 12 of my horses through UC Davis.
Today I received results on 10 of them, plus I received an additional email from UC Davis that on 2 of my horses, the testing has been delayed.
Here is the results on 10 of them, including our senior stallion Dial A Challenge and our two junior stallions Playing Aces N Vegas and Streakin NTaMoonlite (ApHC).

Ace and I had a great run yesterday at the Greeley Stampede barrel race.
Overall, they had 244 horses entered.
We ended up 1st in the 3D in Novice Horse.
I had run him that morning at another race and won some money as well, and then ran him that evening at Greeley.

Ace and I went down to a True West barrel race in Longmont last weekend.
At times I feel like it's been a long road getting to this point as I didn't get to attend many barrel races last year because of work and turnaround, and having shoulder surgery, but it seems like we are finally making some strides together on improving our runs.

So Shorty (Short But Sassy) decided that she was done baking her filly and had her 14 days early. She does have some spots on her hips, but I'll test her for both the QH roan gene and LP, along with the OLWS gene, as her dam is an OLWS carrier.
This is the second Ace (Playing Aces N Vegas) foal and we have one more left to go and she is due around the end of the month.
