The last three days of our FREE vet clinic are this week! These veterinarians have been going back and forth from us to Rutherford County for 3 weeks now. They have provided a wonderful service for our community. Thanks again to Best Friends Animal Society, Fido Fixers and Brother Wolf Animal Rescue for helping with this major undertaking and to Audrey Lodato for being the master mind behind it all!

Vets will be on site Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday this week fromm 10-4!

EDIT.. I'm sure this is probably a stretch however it's worth putting out there. We have a little dog that left yesterday going to Lexington, South Carolina. Unfortunately we had no way to dog test her at the shelter as she was the only dog we had and had just been spayed, and as it turns out she really does not like other dogs and is in this home with someone who brought donations to us yesterday and fell in love with her. The woman is planning to bring her back today and I just wanted to see if there was anyone who might consider meeting her somewhere halfway. Maybe like Spartanburg on i-26. Even Hendersonville or near the airport would be better than nothing. If this is something anyone thinks they might be interested in doing just send me a text at 828-776-1845. Thanks Renee. What a great great day! Erin and Cathy brought a bunch of food, toys and treats from the Pet Supermarket in Lexington SC. And they left with precious Padme. This amazing girl is thrilled to be starting a retirement life in SC!

The Barkin’ Basement was founded 6 years ago. It replaced a very successful and long running annual flea sale. The store is open 6 days a week and all propfit from the store goes directly to the operation of the Yancey County Humane Society.
