Are you already starting to feel a little holiday stress? Too much to do, too much to think about. We have exactly what you need to help with that stress problem. We would love for all of our dogs and cats to have a home for the holidays and from now until the end of December most adoption fees will be waived for all of our animals!

Our shelter pups enjoyed their Thanksgiving-themed lick mats today! 🧡🍗 While it’s heartbreaking that they’re spending the holidays in a shelter, our team is dedicated to making their time here feel special, safe, and full of love. Every single one of them deserves a family to be thankful for someday — but until then, they’ve got us. 🐾🫶

What is Giving Tuesday?

"Giving Tuesday is the annual global day of generosity that occurs the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It is a movement to encourage and celebrate charitable giving in its many forms, including financial donations, volunteering, and acts of kindness, following the consumer-focused days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The day supports both individuals and non-profits and officially kicks off the year-end giving season."

We would love for you to think of us on this special day. Every dollar matters. $5 is two vaccines or a microchip. $10 is a bag of pine litter. $15 is a bag of dog or cat food. $45 is a spay or neuter! And none of it is possible without our donors. We appreciate you so much. If you feel so inclined push that donate button below. And please share!

We are grateful Cyrus was able to go into a loving foster home to learn to ‘dog.’ Before, he was a puppy growing up at the shelter. Barky, jumpy and no one wanted to give him a chance. Now that he has been in a foster home for 3 weeks we are seeing what an amazing dog he is! Loves other pups, enjoys walkies, crate trained and sleeps through the night! 10-day potty training streak with no accidents and LOVES to cuddle and be held. Cyrus can be a little timid until he feels comfortable with new people and surroundings, so if you have a home that Is willing to give Cyrus time to adjust into a new home he could be an amazing addition to your family! He would prefer a home with another dog as he loves to play and finds comfort and looks for guidance from the resident dog. Reach out to our shelter if interested in Cyrus!

Congratulations to Sean and his new family!

Thankful for our pets… not for tummy troubles! 🦃💛

Holiday feasts can lead to unexpected feast-day flare-ups so keep those rich foods out of paw’s reach and be prepared for anything that might pop up during the festivities.

If your pet’s holiday turns from gobble-gobble to wobble-wobble, SAVES is open 24/7 for all walk-in emergencies.

Wishing you a safe, cozy, and pet-approved Holiday! 🐾🧡

Now this is great morning news! Vickie (now Pixie) to us from Burke County when they were facing a space crisis and we had some empty kennels. Look how beautiful she is and how great she is doing. Good girl Pixie! Here is what her new Dad had to say:
Thanks for all you do! You may not hear from many of your adopters, so I thought I’d pass along my thanks. Vickie (now Pixie) thanks you too!

She’s doing very well, and has gained a little weight. She is absolutely obsessed with playing fetch. She goes hiking 3 or 4 times a week with our other Malinois mix.

House training has been a struggle, but we’re currently on a 15 day winning streak!

Thanks again!
