When we say “pony rides” it’s not exactly a pony! It’s Alex!! Our phat pony! He teaches special needs riders, disabled riders & is super trustworthy! We (ok I) love encouraging (bribing,coaxing, daring) the adults to ride! Get a hold of TC Special Entertainment 4 U & I promise I’ll come ask (antagonize) the adults at your party to ride too!

13 years ago today many generous folks on Facebook made this possible …. they saved CHAMP & helped him to safety! On that day Champ arrived in New York! From that day he & I have shared tears & joy, fun & fear and always LOVE! ❤️

Packard Meadows is so proud of what we do! We take injured thoroughbred’s from racetracks, rehab them, retrain some, retire others & keep them until GOD calls them home.

But that isn’t all we do. In 2011 we rescued Alex from a bad situation. He was anemic & honestly badly treated by a local “trainer”. We got him healthy & Alex was amazing in the show ring! In 2015 we spent over $13,000 to save Alex’s life. I prayed for him to live … I didn’t care if he spent the rest of his time on earth just wandering around my field. My prayers were answered & he survived! 13 months later he returned to the show ring & was Reserve Champion!

We soon realized Alex had special gifts that we never knew. He is patient with special needs riders. He loves attending parties & giving rides. He adores the seniors at the nursing home!

Thanks to my amazing team: Skylar Cheasty, Allison Hotaling, Brittany Gale & Michelle-Lee Senecal-Hunt & some special people who jump in when needed: Sue Cheasty, Carly Cheasty, Jenna Hunt, Janelle Caligiuri Patty Hayes & Darcy Erck Gale we have been able to donate our time to special events.

Alex & lately his 2 buddies Aiden & Mike give pony rides & the money collected goes to the charity we are supporting. This doesn’t happen without our fabulous farrier Kevin & his wife Cheryl Considine who lend Aiden & Mike to us to make the magic happen!

So, this long post is to thank my team & our friends for making an old woman cry as she writes this!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX! You’re 14 today! Lord knows you have quite a personality … never sure which one we’ll get! You are a treasure! I am tearfully grateful for the gifts that you give others! Visiting nursing homes, giving an ill boy his first ride on a horse, donating your time to fundraisers! And the events you attend to raise funds that keep you & your equine friends fed & well taken care of! Mama loves you! Mama is so proud of you!! 😘

Just wanted to let everyone know that Ginny had her second eye surgery today and everything is going good. She is resting and we will know more after her follow up tomorrow morning.

13 years ago today I brought home the sweetest mare named Sweeper AKA Elm Hill Girl. She was sweet but opinionated … gentle but strong. She left me in 2016. What she gave me was her wisdom & guidance & the realization that once bitten by the horse bug it never lets go! 😘

Cataract surgery went very well! Healing is doing great. Using drops for a little high pressure in the eye. I’ve had no pain at all! I’m loving having wonderfully improved vision in my left eye! Can’t wait for April 10th to have the right eye done!!

I’m having cataract surgery on March 25 on my left eye! My right eye is scheduled for April 10th. I’ll be on property but unable to be in the barn until roughly May 1st. Things here at the farm will obviously be just fine thanks to Skylar, Allison & Brittany! Wish me luck!!

Fellow horse owner in need of help, due to no fault of their her own! She has a lot on her plate due to a workplace incident, and lack of concern by her employer! And has now found out on top that, that she will have to find somewhere to move her horse by the end of the summer!
