Came as a pair (prefer to adopt together)
Very well-behaved

These dogs deserve loving forever homes where they can flourish and be cherished family members. Our Animal Control Officer will conduct interviews with potential adopters to ensure each dog finds the perfect match.

OUR commmunity IS EXTRAORDINARY!!!🤗🐷
They will have a new home and not be sent to slaughter!😍
I am so grateful, beyond grateful for the networking of social media…. See what happens when we share care!!!
I know we can’t save them all, but this one weighed on my heart and prayers were answered. I will send the updated pictures once they settle on their new farm and thank the family personally I just won’t now without their permission.

OK community I have till 12 o’clock today to find a home for these two companion pigs they’re 3yrs old well cared for, the male is a neutered. The other one is a sow.
We currently have 10 pigs and cannot take more!

Update:
Joe will be arriving to the sanctuary closer to 6pm!

This extraordinary man, Joe Hall, contacted us today.
He will be traveling through our town tomorrow evening 5/8, approximately 6pm!
Joe has asked to rest at the sanctuary and visit with our Herd!

This is Mental Health Awareness Month and his cause is very close to our heart ❤️

We have personally experienced and witnessed the healing power of our animals and the kindred spirits they share.

ODD request to our Community:)

Tues 4/29/25 is Animal Advocacy Day at the Capitol in Albany from 9am-1pm
We are trying to help the League of Humane Voters pass a Bill for livestock animals to be required to have sheltering (can you believe we need a Bill for this!!)
We believe having an animal represent this need will be more effective than a slideshow of need although we will have this as well.
All of HeartsHerd’s residents are too big to bring

DOES ANYONE HAVE or KNOW of someone who has either a baby,young or very small goat or lamb we could borrow for this very important event to hopefully shelter and save the lives of other animals in need.
I promise to keep him/her safe and completely in my care OR anyone is welcome to join me for the event

UPDATE :

Middy aka Midnight has a wonderful forever home! 🥰

HC O’Malley is still waiting! 😻🙏

We are a farm animal sanctuary

In 2010 we tried to expand our buildings into housing for domestic animals and were denied by the town.
Before Covid, we had a foster base and could assist domestic animals with this help.
NOW, all rescuers are scrambling for fosters homes, there is more need then availability

We answered a call during the last snow storm
It was a Divine happening
We had no means to help however how could we not?
A homeless woman with her dog went to a shelter and was turned away because of the dog.
She would not abandon the dog
She slept out on the street with the dog in a wagon and all her blankets were covering the dog to keep it warm,
She would not abandon the dog, even if it was for her own comfort

She called everywhere
There were no resources for her

We know this to be true
With all the contacts we have, to no avail could we get her any resources with her dog.

For her to get into the shelter, someone needed to be willing to take her dog, there are no agencies affiliated in this department to help

We will not get into a rant of how broken we feel our system is or how anyone in our community could be so hopeless or helpless.

We have put pleas out
Our community has shared
No one has called or contacted us on her behalf

MIDNIGHT aka MIDDY is an amazing dog

ALL rescuers are struggling with support and resources
Everyone is full, there are not enough shelters or fosters
We tried for a building-DENIED
Rensselaer County has been advocating for a building for domestic homeless animals-DENIED

How can we continue to help our community?

We took a dog in a critical situation(also a cat during the same snowstorm, separate case) without hesitation and yet this is our reality, they are living in our home, juggling with our own animals and responsibilities and NO ONE has shown interest in fostering or adopting.

COULD THIS SOMEONE BE YOU? 🙏🐶🙏
We CANNOT continue to help our community without the resources for these situations.

Today being St Paddy’s Day, you may want to look over your four leaf clover, but please don’t look over our HC O’Malley!
She is our “hallway cat “
Since trying to help her out on a snowy night, she has been living in our hallway & upstairs
WAITING for her luck to change and find a new forever home!
Our Vet believe she is approximately two years young, spayed, up-to-date on all of her shots. Lovable, a typical Tortie in personality…. just needs to warm up and then she is as lovely as lovely can be !
