A Big weekend for some folks here at the farm. Bella Perkins continues her winning ways with her amazing, but sometimes spicy mount Rhapsody by nailing her second qualifying score for Regional Championships at Third Level. Congrats Bella! Levi showed that he loves the show ring with some great rides at Fourth Level -Test 3 (65%)! Ciara Wardwell and her not-so-easy pony Phoenix keeps climbing the numbers at First Level. And our new to the dressage ring- Helena McGowan -brought home two blues with great scores at Intro. Great way to start the summer show season. And it is so important to thank Stan Horton and Anita Jaffe and all the awesome people at Stockade Polo and Saddle Club for making this show possible. We are truly lucky to have this top-notch show facility in our backyard.

Hope y'all had a great Mother's Day because we sure did. Our annual Dressage Schooling Show was a great experience for getting the young and new into the show ring and for dusting off some winter cobwebs for the more seasoned teams. A big shout out to all the volunteers who helped pull this together. It takes a team!

We are gearing up for the Spring with a new clinic added to our schedule. FEI competitor and seasoned coach Janine Little will be joining us for a two-day clinic on April 27&28. Internationally trained, with a long track-record of success in the show ring, Janine has developed many horses and riders from the basics through the FEI Levels. Janine is known for her ability to help riders of all levels with an uncompromising focus on correct basics (something we love!). Show season is done after a great day at our Fall Dressage Show. The less than perfect weather didn't stop a steady flow of fun rides. We introduced two 4 year olds and a 5 year old to the show ring (we're talking horses here- not riders, in case there was any confusion) and moved a bunch of riders up a step or two. Great way to finish the season and make training plans for the winter months. A big shout out to all the volunteers who made this event happen so seamlessly. Love the team we have here.

Seems like the chestnuts we brought to the Dressage Regional Championships this weekend were happy to show their best. Ciara Wardwell and Phoenix scored 65% in the Training Level Championship ride, putting them 12th out of 31 junior riders. Not bad for a 13 year old!
Then Bella Perkins and her flashy chestnut Rhapsody took the big win with 70% in their Third-3 test, which was a qualifying score (and then some...) for next years' Third Level Championships. Congrats to both teams- It's been a great year for these guys.

Small but mighty! That's the best description of our team at the 2023 D4K Youth Dressage Festival. We couldn't be more proud of the team and individual effort put in to make this weekend simply amazing. Here's a check list of some of the cool wins:

Many more photos and stats to follow but once again our Youth Dressage Team is standing proud at the D4K Youth Dressage Festival. Bella Perkins won her division, and overall high point Reserve Champion and our team of Bella, Julia Houser, Ciara Wardwell and Cayce Miller won the over all Reserve Champion team. Wow! Way to go girls!

If there was any doubt that Bella Perkins and Rhapsody were ready for Third level and deserving of a USDF Bronze Medal- doubt has been removed. This team hit the big numbers this weekend with wins at Third Level with 69% and 67%. Gorgeous, harmonious tests that speak volumes about partnership and bringing out the best in each other. Hats off to this pair.
And as always we want to thank Stockade Polo and Saddle Club (Anita Jaffe, Stan Horton) for the stellar job they do in providing a top-notch show facility. We are so lucky!

Sometimes to get better in something you need to be pushed and challenged and you find out just how much you really can do. That was certainly the case this weekend as we hosted our annual D4K TEAM Clinic with two-time Olympic Champion Lendon Gray. For two days riders were challenged to step up their game and it's safe to say these young riders got it done. Great job to everyone and a shout out to all who helped pull this event together. We really appreciate the enthusiasm and energy to make a wonderful opportunity like this be such a success.

The sun was shining on Bella Perkins and her Royal Rhapsody today as they grabbed their final score for their USDF Bronze Medal. Huge congrats to this team for all of their hard work. Getting your Bronze Medal is a testament to being a quality rider and putting in the long hours to make it happen.
A big thanks too to the folks at the Stockade show facility for organizing these events. We really appreciate having such a beautiful place to show that's so close to home.

A show weekend for the farm, where our riders covered Intro, Training, First, Second and Third level. Huge congrats to Ciara Wardwell and her rockstar pony, Phoenix for qualifying for Regional Championships at Training Level. Julia Houser and Wing will be joining her after huge wins (71.1%) at First Level to punch their ticket to Regionals. Adria Weatherbee's fabulous appy, Cris made his debut at Second Level crossing the 60% mark, and Bella Perkins and Rhapsody danced their way into Third Level with not one but two scores in the 60's. (That Bronze Medal is in her cross-hairs!). Lisa Kyer and her beautiful Ziva did themselves proud with 67% at Intro. Hard work, dedication to happy horses and solid education- look where it gets you!

This farm is thrilled to have had the opportunity to host the ENYDCTA sponsored clinic with the incredible Linda Zang. Her resume speaks of her years of exceptional performance as an international competitor, trainer, judge and organizer of all things dressage. Riding with Linda is a transformative experience and one clinic participants and auditors won't soon forget. Thank you ENYDCTA, Linda Zang, and all who attended. It was a fantastic two days.

Bella and Rhapsody are champs for making it to Nationals. Wasn’t an easy test today with a horse who looked more ready to take on the famous cross-country course here then settle into a dressage test but Bella rode it like a pro. This farm is super proud of them!

Update from Nationals: Bella got a 6th in her practice test today. Rhapsody was on his A game. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Shooting for a live stream right here at 2:34 (unless ride times change). BTW-picture is from the lovely, warm, dry indoor arena. That’s not where we were or where tomorrow’s ride will be!

Yes! We are in Lexington KY for Dressage Nationals. Yes-it is 34-degrees, rain AND snow blowing sideways. And yes Bella Perkins and Rhapsody just had a really nice test to warm-up for tomorrow’s Championship ride. For those who want to watch-we’ll try to livestream right here on FB. Time is set for 2:34.

Time to congratulate the winning team of Bella Perkins and Royal Rhapsody because they are on their way to USDF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS! Bella got her invite based on her performance at Regional Championships in September.
To help Bella along on this super exciting (but certainly not cheap) adventure to Lexington, Kentucky, we gathered some donations from very generous local businesses and are hosting a "silent auction." Stop in and place a bid and you might get yourself some cool stuff.

We made it to Regional Championships 2022 and what a weekend it was. Pelting rain/thunder/lightning/cancelled classes,/washed out arenas/ whipping winds/frosty air -all added up to a challenging time to bring out the big scores. Bella Perkins and her Royal Rhapsody had the best weekend of all making it to the awards arena with a 4th in her Second Level Championship class! Adria Weatherbee's Crissale grabbed a 3rd and 6th place ribbon in open classes and the Julia Houser/Wingwalker team had a great ride in their championship class of 55.
