We adopted Sam knowing our time together would be limited. Sam had cancer. We wanted every day he had left to be as precious and special as he was. What could be better than being surrounded all day with crazy animal lovers and meeting all the amazing pet parents who came to visit? While we wanted Sam’s time on this earth to be the best ever, the truth is, Sam made every day better for us. This week, his tumor grew suddenly and began to affect a part of his liver, that started to diminish his comfort and quality of life. Today, with heavy hearts, we had to say goodbye. We are so grateful for every minute we had with Sam. He was an incredible gift, and the love he gave us was beyond measure. If you ever have the chance to adopt a senior pet, please do so. The joy and love they bring into your life are unmatched. We will miss Sam dearly, but we will carry him in our hearts forever. We want to express our deepest gratitude to the Kinnelon Volunteer Shelter and especially Mr. and Mrs. Canale for the amazing work they do for these fur babies. Thank you for bringing Sam into our lives.

We are suddenly seeing multiple cases of eye worms. Keeping your pet on monthly heartworm preventatives can help prevent this type of infection, on top of preventing heartworm, roundworms and other parasites.

Butler Veterinary Hospital opened in 2011. Our commitment is to provide the best in medical and surgical care to our patients, with compassion and clear communication with our clients.
