Our Story

Happy Mountain Dog Snacks, LLC came together by a chance series of forunate & unfortunate events, spanning the course of several years. Soon after adopting the Happy Mountain Dog Snacks' poster child, Guido, our owner & her future husband realized that he wouldn't survive winter without a jacket. After stitching a hefty coat for him by hand, she was encouraged to pursue the dog jacket business, to both her amusement & surprise. She sewed the nights away, like an elf preparing for Christmas, developing a passion for the dog industry & eventually getting ready to launch the business a few years later. Around that time, being a life long home baker, our owner also began taking her kitchen skills to the next level, in the form of specialty cakes (for humans!) created for weddings & birthday parties. While all this was going on, it was finally discovered (after a few years of misdiagnoses) that Guido's canine brother, Loki, had severe environmental & food allergies. With no compatible kibble , raw food blend, or freeze dried food blend (at the time), our owner & her husband began cooking Loki human-grade whole foods, free of allergens, as his daily diet. Holding a full time job in emergency medical services & now cooking dog food several hours a week, time became hard-pressed in her dog jacket world. It was then that an ad in the local paper appeared soliciting homemade dog treats for a local doggy spa! Our owner answered that ad. She didn't think it much more than a sort of bake sale style hobby gig. However, she soon realized that pursuing this idea professionally would allow her the perfect opportunity to combine her passions of canines & baking with her knowledge of food allergens & environmental awareness! After many months of product development & jumping through all of the legal hoops, Happy Mountain Dog Snacks, LLC was born! 10 pounds, 11 ounces- a company bursting with health, the best ingredients, the continued pursuit of a limited environmental footprint, & ALL the canine love! Welcome to our Happy Mountain Dog Snack family!
