Peyton and Twix attended their first show! She practiced showmanship, did a coloring contest, dressed up as Beauty and the Mini Beast for the costume contest, and of course the class breed show- Twix won BOV and 3rd place for BOB 😁😁😍 so much fun!

Maybel FINALLY had her babies at 40 days gestation… poor girl! Four pretty tris and two perfect harlis!! I am beyond excited to watch them grow! 😍😍🥰

Flower, my New Zealand, had 8 healthy babies early this morning (they look like mini hippos 😍) !!! And my English lop, Maybel, started pulling fur this evening! Impatiently awaiting the third litter 🥰🥰🥰 stay tuned for updates!

I didn’t think these two girls were even pregnant as they are 39 days gestation today 😳🤪 I guess the baby buns needed to cook a while longer than normal!

Peyton’s netherland dwarf, KitKat FINALLY had her babies today! 38days gestation is a little long for a bun. But we have 4 little beans and a happy&healthy mama 🥰 We can’t wait to watch them grow!

Unfortunately, I don’t think we will be getting a litter from my other two does so we will try again over the weekend 😊

Happy spring all! Things have been busy over here with a new baby and all- hence why we’ve been pretty quiet! But we have some exciting updates! (Sorry for the long post 🫣)

First: SO many eggs! If you want any please let me know 😁 I’ll be in the city this weekend, we can plan something! 4️⃣/dozen

Second: We are expecting 2-3 litters next week 😍😍😍 stay tuned for some sweet little beans!
(Don’t come at me for posing- I’m still working on it! Plus it’s hard to get pics by yourself 🤪)

(Super excited for all the tri/harli buns!)
• Netherland dwarfs: Heavenly rabbits chocolate otter “Twix” x Carpender farms chocolate “Big Betty aka Kit Kat”

• New Zealand’s Azul x Flower (although I don’t think she took)

Third: my silkies are finally laying consistently 😁 if anyone is interested in hatching eggs lmk! This is my first go at hatching eggs & it’s a fun pen so not completely sure what will come. I have satin splash, partridge, chocolate, 2 blue (one is frizzle) and a white roo. I’ll be trying to hatch some very soon so stay tuned for silkie chicks too!

Fourth: my husband is an iron worker and looking for some side jobs if you have anything that needs a repair!

Two new buns were added to the barn today! A broken chestnut doe and a harli buck- they were brought in to improve type and will help a lot with my tri program🤞🏻 They are extra fun because they are both chocolate carriers 🍫🤎

There’s just something extra special and fulfilling about being able to feed your family a meal that is 100% organic and raised on our own little homestead! It was especially cool to see our daughter pray over and thank the animals that we raised. She is used to doing so with the deer and other wild game Steve hunts but these animals she helped take care of! Such a rewarding process from start to finish.

Christmas dinner consisted of home raised rabbit and smoked turkey among lots of other tasty dishes. As well as some venison summer sausage from the deer Steve got this year!

All of our animals have a purpose and no matter their use, all have a great life with us here and we are so grateful for them; weather it be for pets, showing, hobby, hunting, or food...! I can’t wait to dive deeper into this journey with gardening and canning as our next avenue to get us closer to self sustainable living!
