Had a great weekend at the Michigan taxidermy show. Learned a bunch and excited for the future. I decided to mount one of my ruddy shellducks. They are beautiful birds. The quote I put on it really puts in perspective how pretty these birds really are.

I would like to thank all the wonderful customers this year. It’s been a wild waterfowl season, but as of now I am full for the season. If I have spoke to you you’re fine. If anyone has any questions just reach out. I will be back to taking birds in September. Make sure to wrap those heads and feet in wet paper towel and place in freezer ziplocks. Birds will be fine until then.

Been busy finishing up 22/23 birds. I’m well ahead of schedule and will be starting 23/24 here soon. I have some room left for 23/24 season just reach out to schedule a drop off.

Lots of dead mounts lately. Also got some time to put together my first turkey. Personal bird from last year. Lots to learn on them before I feel comfortable with customer birds. May add them next spring to the line up.

What an amazing weekend at the Michigan state taxidermy show! Over 200 mounts entered! Some super talented taxidermis and some great people to hang out with. I couldn’t thank my wife enough for her support and pushing me to continue to go above and beyond what I thought I had to offer. I finally have my first place masters entry with a stunning harlequin! I would also like to thank Ron Furgeson and Steve Zanin for bringing split brow back to life! They did an amazing job and I can’t thank them enough for their hard work and dedication. Hats off to another great year!

Well I want to thank everyone for another wonderful year. I am currently full and will not be accepting anymore birds for the year. For those I have spoke to over this past week I will still take those birds in. For those of you that shoot something and want it mounted just hold on to it until September 1st when I will start taking birds back in. Make sure your feet and heads are wrapped in wet paper towel with head tucked over back like in the picture. And make sure they are put in two freezer gallon or two gallon bags. Any questions just reach out.

Educational post! I have been getting many calls, txts, messages ect. I shot a bird and I would like to get it mounted. Guys please do yourself a favor and look over the bird and educate yourself on what pin feathers are. You’re spending your hard earned money on a mount, you want it to look nice. But here is a prime example of two, nice looking wood ducks, but the most important thing is missing on one. The side pockets aren’t fully developed. Lift that wing up and look. This goes for all birds right now, look them over take your finger and back brush the head neck shoulders look for pin feathers.

Happy Monday all! I will begin accepting birds August 29th-September 1st. Then will have a short break and will start again September 7th.
