We need everyone's help to share!!

This dog was spotted at To***co One Stop on S. 2nd Street. When our officer tried to approach, the dog ran 90 to nothing down S 2nd through the Westside Campus and beyond. If this is your dog or you know where he belongs, please secure him or give us a call at 501.628.5900, option 1. The area is extremely busy, and the wet roads don't allow for quick braking.

Three of our staff are participating in Continuing Education for Humane Euthanasia Certification today through Arkansas State Animal Control Association! Marina, our Veterinary Technician, Officer Masters, and Officer Staley, two of our Field Services Officers, will be trained on techniques and proper procedures for Humane Euthanasia. While it isn't something we are tasked with often, we want to ensure that our staff is fully trained on procedures that provide the least amount of stress and keep the animal as comfortable as possible. None of us take this duty lightly but we are thankful that the City of Cabot allows us to obtain the knowledge and training needed to provide care to animals in their most vulnerable time of need.

Alley came to us a few weeks back with an unknown injury. After her x-rays were reviewed she was found to have compression fractures along her spine down to her tail. Because of these fractures, Alley had no motor control over her hind limbs or her bowel movements. Our shelter veterinarian gave us three options for Alley.....chiropractic treatments, hospice care to keep her comfortable, or humane euthanasia. We opted to contact animal chiropractors in the state to see if Alley would be a candidate for treatments. After multiple doctors confirmed, we chose to get Alley scheduled for her treatments.

We decided to work with Dr. Casie Ogden from Head To Tail Chiropractic in Conway. It has been an eye-opening experience!! Alley has her 4th treatment this week and is now putting weight on her hind limbs and relieving her bladder/bowel on her own. Dr. Ogden has been wonderful in training our veterinary technician on exercises between appointments. We hope that Alley will continue to improve and she will be adopted into a wonderful, loving home! She is a precious kitty that deserves the very best!

Our fundraising goal is $750 which will pay for Alley's 6 chiropractic treatments! Please let us know if you have any questions or need a different way to donate. We also offer Venmo and Paypal.

HAPPY NATIONAL WILDLIFE DAY!!!

National Wildlife Day is celebrated every year on September 4 in the US, encouraging people to pause, reflect, and appreciate the wildlife around us. This day aims to remind the importance of conservation efforts to improve the natural world.

If you aren't familiar with wildlife conservation efforts in Arkansas, please check out the Arkansas Wildlife Action Plan through Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. As part of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s State Wildlife Grant program, Congress charged each state and territory with developing a comprehensive wildlife conservation strategy. Arkansas’s strategy, the Arkansas Wildlife Action Plan, provides an essential foundation for the future of wildlife conservation and an opportunity for state and federal agencies and other conservation partners to fit individual and coordinated roles in conservation efforts across the state. As a part of this, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is responsible for requesting and administering State Wildlife Grants to support the implementation of the Arkansas Wildlife Action Plan. https://www.agfc.com/education/arkansas-wildlife-action-plan/
