To my valued friends and clients:

Despite my best efforts to control the cost of grooming, inflation has caught up with my small grooming business. As of July 1, 2024, I will be increasing my prices by 15% to 20%. Please feel free to text me if you would like to know what your updated cost will be.

Also, please note that I continue to experience a high volume of appointment requests. I am currently booking into mid-August, with very limited availability.

If your pet is groomed on a regular schedule, I highly encourage you to book your pet on automatic rotating appointments. I will be happy to set this up for you. As most know, if a regular appt is missed for any reason, I will make every effort to get your pet in as soon as possible to keep them on schedule.

2023 Updates

1. We are continuing to experience a high volume of appointment requests. I am currently booking into late March, with limited availability. Here is the list of ways to book an appt:

2. After a tremendous amount of consideration, I have decided to no longer offer Saturday appointments. Please note, I will honor all currently scheduled Saturday appointments. I understand that this may cause some difficulty for some. I do have late afternoon appt times and will prioritize those slots for anyone who is affected by this change.

3. Due to the continued increase of materials and costs, Tails & Nails Pet Spa will be implementing a price increase effective Monday, January 9th.

Please note that at this time I am experiencing a high volume of appointment requests and I am currently booked out approximately 8 weeks. Due to this, it has become difficult for me to return all messages and phone calls.

To ensure you are getting the information you need and timely appointments for your pets, I have provided a list of the best ways to book an appointment or contact me.

⚫️ Booking an appointment through my website is the fastest and most convenient way to receive an appt. for your pet.

To schedule an appt. please go to www.tailsnails.com and select the “Book Now” link at the top of my website.

If you are a current client (and I have a cell phone number on file for you) you have been receiving appt reminder texts from my scheduling software. The phone number for those texts is 334-487-6226. Please use this number to reply to any texts, to book an appt by text, or if you have any questions at all.

⚫️ This is the best number for any and all texting.

I am now having all messages sent to my Business page https://www.facebook.com/tailsnails/ monitored on a more frequent basis. Messaging me through my Business Page is also now a preferred method of contact. Please reach out that way of it works for you!

⚫️ Unfortunately my personal Facebook Messenger is not a reliable form of contact.

I receive a large number of Facebook messages on my personal page. Due to this, I am unable to monitor my personal Facebook messages on a frequent basis and often times will miss messages.

At this time, emailing is also difficult for me to monitor regularly. My response time could be up to a week.

My business phone line, (518) 335-8039, is monitored daily, however messages may be missed due to the volume of calls and messages I receive on that line. When leaving a voicemail, I am more likely to reply back by text. In conclusion, my voicemail is a great way to relay information to me, however returning phone calls can be difficult and may take me some time.

Please know that I am aware that it can be difficult to reach me at times. I am actively working on ways to make this easier for my customers, as well as myself. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!!

Happy Sunday!! My estimated official start day back will be Friday, May 15th.

Prior to May 15th, I am limited to medically necessary grooming only.

Please know that at this time, I am only able to work one day a week due to my family’s current schedule. My plan is to start a full schedule again Monday, May 18th!

For the time being I can not take on any new clients. I am happy to put referrals on my waiting list.

Also, I am receiving a large number of calls, texts, and messages. Unfortunately, it is taking me a long time to return them. I have made the decision that at this time, I am not going to be returning calls to those individuals who are not current clients. This is not my usual practice, but due to the volume of incoming messages, I believe this is the best way to better serve my current clients.

I am currently working through 8 weeks worth of appointments to reschedule so your kindness and understanding is enormously appreciated. It is going to take time for me to get in touch with all of you. I am doing my best to meet everyone’s needs, including my family’s.

We are all facing an unprecedented time so I appreciate your patience and understanding while I focus on my children’s schooling until we have a better idea of what our community will look like, once things start opening back up again.

Stay well and give your pets a scratch and kiss for me! You have no idea how much I miss them.

Good News!! Tails & Nails Pet Spa has been deemed “essential” by the Empire State Department for any medically necessary grooming.

There will be more details to follow as this is all uncharted territory. Here are some bullet points:

- I am reopening the week of April 27th with a limited
schedule for medically necessary grooming (many of your
curly coated breeds like doodles and poodles will have to be my priority).
- I will be reaching out to those of you who I know already fall into this category.
- If your pet can wait to be groomed until after May 15th, I will ask that you please wait until then for an appt. I will be happy to put you on the calendar now.
- If you have a scheduled appointment prior to May 15th, please be aware that I may still have to reschedule your grooming to accommodate those that require medically necessary grooming.

Also, I am required to follow the COVID-19 protocol issued by the governor’s office, which means the following:
- The shop will remain locked at all times and no clients will be allowed into the shop.
- I will come out to your car for pick up and drop off of your pet. Please call 518-335-8039 when you arrive and I will come out to your car.
- I will be using my own leash to bring your dog in and out of the shop. Please remove all collars, harnesses, clothing & flea collars prior.
- I will only be accepting exact change for cash or I can take a credit card over the phone.
- I will be wearing gloves/masks to bring in/out your dog.
- Please arrive on time for your appointment.
- I will call/text you before your pet is finished to give you a designated pick up time. Please arrive at that time to pick up your dog.

I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, it is a ray of hope to be able to take care of those pups that truly need it right now. Please know that these precautions are for the health and well being of my family and I, as well you, my clients.

I wanted to post a quick note to thank all of my clients for being so patient. My family recently had a death and I am also currently on the mend from a small medical procedure. I will be back to light duty on February 10th and look forward to seeing all your beautiful pups and kitties!! I truly cannot wait to get back to work!
