Starting in February we are excited to start hosting Trot Pole Tuesday! This is a modified type of lesson (essentially, I give you the courses/exercises and what you’re looking to accomplish and how to ride them best then you go and practice) for those who would like to come. You do not need to take lessons here in order to trailer in but if using a GHF horse you will need to be enrolled in lessons. This is a great way to work on your horses skills over poles and your skills as a rider over obstacles. New courses and new exercises every week. Please make sure to RSVP so that we know who is coming and what to plan for!

Everyone meet my absolutely stunning new mare! Registered with the Jockey Club as Sundrenched (Get Stormy x Sky Classic) and currently her barn name is “Roxy” but a name change might come! She was so lovely and quiet even after an 8 hour road trip to get here. She’s so sweet and got lots of scratches and loved every second of it. Cant wait to ride her and see what she’s all about!

GHF has lesson slots open! Riding lessons are a great Christmas present 🎄

Bring your horse or use one of ours. From absolute beginners to advanced riders, we work with anyone, any breed of horse, and with any type of goal you may have. We go to the smallest of schooling shows to get your toes wet to the bigger rated shows in state (potential for out of state shows soon)! Hunters, jumpers, and equitation! Elevate your riding here in the Catskill mountains!

All of us had such a blast at our clinic with .com_ yesterday! Lots of fundamental work and discussion of our horses listening to us and being on our aids. Toulouse showing off that he loves to stretch down! It’s easy to bring your horses neck/head up, let them stretch. He’s been getting more and more consistent and correct in his stretch. And, believe it or not, this is without gadgets. I used draw reins on him one time to, GENTLY, show him he can indeed stretch while being ridden… never rode him in them again. Leather bit, soft arms. I love that he’s reaching for contact now as well, too. Love this guy. 🧡

Beau and Harper looking stunning today! 😍🎃🖤 And just since people wonder, here’s a little Beau update!Ive had Beau now for a little over a year now. Within the first 2 months of having him he got diagnosed with EPM. He had had it for quite a while and it had just been missed. He would stumble and have intermittent lameness, only to the left (which check out the soundness in the video! 🥰) and he also was incredibly hard to keep weight and muscle on. Literally all of a sudden, in the last month or so, Beau has totally changed. He hasnt taken a single stumble type of step, ive seen no indication of lameness, and hes picked up a ton of weight and muscle. Im not sure if it was the treatment or not (he hasnt been on it in about 3 months now) or possibly management and a chnage in diet (i really revamped the diet). But i am so so so happy with how he is doing and it makes me hopeful that he will be with me for a long time. Beau is absolutely worth his weight in gold and i will continue to fight for his health and do everything i can to keep him healthy and happy 🤠

We had SO much fun at the Greenville FFA show on Saturday!

Olivia and Tori got to experience their first flat classes together and learned the ropes about how they go. Then into the cross rail division where Olivia got a first and a second (makes me tear up seeing my gorgeous girl take the kids around cross rail classes 🥹). Awesome and confident rides from Olivia who is looking forward to more shows!

Kiersten had her FIRST show ever and she got to take Toulouse. Neither of them had been to this place before or ever done a flat class but both of them stepped up to the plate and ribboned in all their classes (which I will say were quite large which was awesome!). Very, very proud of Kiersten for piloting a horse she’s never ridden to ribbons and proud of little baby Toulouse for really strutting his stuff and showing off his stellar personality!

Congrats to all the other riders at the show. There was great riding and lovely horses. Hope to see yall at more this fall! 🥰

Lily is quickly becoming a favorite of lesson students here at GHF! What a stellar girl, incredible brain and just as sweet as can be. And she fits with my MO - grey AND a mare 😆 there are a few WEEKDAY lessons available - message for info!

Easiest and smoothest guy out there. Toulouse is still figuring out straightness, correct bend, and what alllll of those legs are doing. He’s doing such an excellent job. He checks in with me and when I tell him he’s ok, he knows he’s ok. Calm, steady, smooth… that’s how we need to bring along our babies. No rushing, no over doing it, pushing when needed…

Little baby Toulouse is growing up! First time cantering a fence and he nailed it!! He’s been such a fun little baby to develop. I gave him about 2 months off after the last clinic so really reset his feet and let him finish growing (he turned 6 on April 26th 🥰) and I think he is back better than ever now.
