🎆 Limit Fireworks Exposure – Fireworks can be loud and scary for pets. Keep them inside in a quiet, secure room with soothing music or a favorite blanket.

🍾 Keep Party Foods & Drinks Out of Reach – Foods and drinks meant for humans can be harmful to pets. Make sure any snacks, alcohol, or chocolate are safely out of paw’s reach!

🐕 Check IDs – Loud noises can spook pets into running away. Make sure your pets’ tags and microchip information are up-to-date in case they get out.

🎊 Avoid Confetti & Noisemakers – Small items like confetti or parts of noisemakers can be dangerous if swallowed. Keep these items away from curious noses and paws.

👀 What Are Cataracts in Pets? 🐾

Cataracts are a common eye condition that causes the lens of the eye to become cloudy, leading to vision impairment. While they are more common in senior pets, they can affect animals of any age and may be linked to genetics, diabetes, or eye injuries.

Signs and Symptoms to Watch For
🔹 Cloudy or whitish appearance in the eye(s)
🔹 Difficulty seeing, especially in low light
🔹 Bumping into furniture or walls
🔹 Hesitation on stairs or in unfamiliar areas
🔹 Increased eye redness or irritation

How Do We Diagnose Cataracts?
👩‍⚕️ A comprehensive eye exam is the first step. We’ll examine your pet’s eyes for cloudiness, inflammation, or other abnormalities.
🔬 Additional tests, such as tonometry (to check for glaucoma) or specialized imaging, may be performed to evaluate the overall eye health and determine the extent of the cataract.
🩺 In some cases, we may recommend referral to a veterinary ophthalmologist for advanced diagnostics or surgical consultation.

🐾 What is Cushing’s Disease? 🐾

Cushing’s disease, or hyperadrenocorticism, is a condition in pets (most commonly dogs) caused by prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol. Cortisol, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands, helps regulate stress and metabolism, but too much of it can lead to serious health problems.

Signs and Symptoms to Watch For
🔹 Increased thirst and urination
🔹 Increased appetite
🔹 Panting
🔹 Hair loss or thinning coat
🔹 Pot-bellied appearance
🔹 Lethargy or reduced activity
🔹 Thin or fragile skin
