Ride for Joy Therapeutic Riding Program

Ride for Joy Therapeutic Riding Program Providing professional and compassionate equine assisted activities and therapies to individuals wit

The Ride for Joy Therapeutic Riding program is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that incorporated April 2007 but has been operational since 1998. Ride for Joy (RFJ) offers therapeutic riding in the greater Treasure Valley for individuals, along with Military personnel and Veterans with medical disabilities. Horses have the ability to read, understand, and relay emotional and physical stresses

that people are experiencing. They have helped individuals build a stronger sense of security, confidence and strengthening of coping mechanisms. For people with physical limitations or needs, horses have been shown to re-teach and strengthen balance, coordination, and motor functions.

Nearly 13 million Americans across the country experience post-traumatic stress disorder, but misinformation and negative stereotypes discourage people from seeking a diagnosis or treatment. Veterans and service members are more likely to develop PTSD than civilians. Join Ride for Joy today to help raise awareness about PTSD and its treatment options, including equine-assisted services.

If you or someone you know is interested in signing up for our Veterans Horsemanship program, send us a message, visit our website, or email [email protected].

Did you miss Idaho Gives? Don't worry, there's more ways to donate!

Seen Through Horses is an nationwide campaign during May to raise awareness and funds to support nonprofit organizations (like us!) who work with horses for the mental health and personal growth of our communities. $30 will cover a bag of senior feed for the herd, $70 will cover the cost of a new helmet for one of our riders, and $120 will cover a rider facing financial hardship with an eight-week scholarship.
