This weekend was a busy one. King malakai got a best of breed, a second best of breed and a 5th best cat. Future queen Persephone got a 3rd best of breed and a 9th best kitten. We will continue to see how she develops as she is just a baby still.

On our way home from the last cat show we competed in, Malakai decided he had to p*e. Which he did in his car seat. Now the whole truck smells like male cat p*e, someone help!! How do we get the smell out? Photo of the culprit for attention

We did get to have our two Queens hearts screened for HCM this weekend. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or HCM is a serious disease present in Maine C**ns because they are a large breed. HCM is a common heart disease that causes a cat's heart muscle to thicken, making it less efficient. We do a genetic profile along with the echo cardiogram to pre-screen our breeding cats for markers of this disease. We are happy to say that both our Queens Evangeline and Lila have perfect hearts! One more step done towards making them mommas!

We didn't like being shown at this show. My babies were all growling and hissing. So, because they were not having a good time, I made the decision to bring them home a day early. Sometimes it's just not a good weekend, and your show cats happiness is the most important thing to consider. We will be taking a break from the shows for the holidays. Hopefully we will be having some exciting news soon!

Happy first birthday to our beautiful future queen Evangeline! This weekend she will be competing in a 3 day TICA Show in Schaumberg Illinois. She will also be getting her clearance from a board certified cardiologist for her heart for breeding! We take health testing very seriously at Odacity Cattery, and we need to make sure her little heart is healthy enough for breeding and that we aren't passing along any heart issues to her offspring. Come see us if you are in the area, the cat show is in conjunction with The Great American Dog Show. Come out and see some beautiful pure bred cats and dogs!

This last weekend we attended the CFA international Cat Show and Expo. We were not selected to make any finals and did not receive any rosettes. However, our boy did achieve his Champion title with CFA. He is now a CFA Champion and an ACFA Grand Champion. This last weekend he was looking his best and groomed to perfection by our certified master groomer Cat Chronicals! Come see us next month at the TICA show in Schaumberg, IL!

I want to thank my friend and the most excellent Master Groomer Amanda for helping me make my boy the shiniest prettiest boy ever! This is the best I've seen him look! Anyone in the Indiana Chicago area that needs some help with their cats grooming, check her out!! Or if you want to get your cat looking show quality!
