Pick up FREE manure in Caledonia! We can load trailers (by appointment only), or come by with buckets and fill up yourself! Shovels and bags can be provided upon request

Meet the newest member of our herd! This is HM Horizon, aka "Ozzie", a 5 year old Belgian/Quarter Horse Gelding that came to us all the way from St. Louis, Missouri! We are so excited and feel so blessed to have Ozzie here with us.

His specific breed (Draft Cross) is very sought after and extremely hard to purchase. Think 2021 housing market - multiple offers and sold faster than the speed of light. When we saw Ozzie's ad, we immediately knew he was the perfect fit, but given our past experiences, we were skeptical about our chances.

We reached out anyway! After 6 hours we hadn't heard back, then 12 hours.. Meanwhile, the interest on his ad was growing and growing. A day later and we figured he was already gone.. until his trainer wrote us back! We struck up a conversation, explaining what we do, and the kind of life Ozzie would have at Legacy - vaulting and lessons, even therapy someday, and that he would have a purposeful life. His trainer said she would talk to the owner, and get back with us. Another 24 hours passed, and we thought that maybe it wasn't meant to be.. until we got a phone call... THEY CHOSE US! Out of close to 100 messages from others interested, Ozzie's trainer and owner wanted him to come here to Legacy. How cool is that?!

The names, HM Horizon and Ozzie, have special meanings for us.
The H and M stand for Habakkuk and Miles, who are/were two of our beloved vaulting horses who came before.

“Horizon” as a reminder to always keep your eyes up on the horizon. Life has so many ups and downs, so we use this, and Horizon, as a reminder to stay focused on what matters. There is positivity and blessings around every corner!

“Ozzie” is derived from a name that means “Warrior of God” and is a reminder that God has given us a special mission to impact lives through our horses.

Say hi to Ozzie in the South America pasture next time you're at the barn! Be sure to look closely as you'll find his "twin" Yeti in there, too!

Some of our vaulters are heading home from a week in Germany attending a vaulting camp and sightseeing!

While in Germany, the vaulters got to try out the "MOVIE Rundlauf" which is a moving vaulting barrel for practicing canter vaulting without the need of a horse. The Movie Rundlauf creates the canter motion and moves in a circle as a lunging horse would. Each of our vaulters were able to mount the Movie!! Way to go👏

They also participated in medal testing, which consisted of demonstrating certain vaulting moves and their knowledge in everything horses.

New Ground Church and Legacy Stables and Karin's Horse Connection invite you to attend their fifth multi-location Pumpkin Palooza event on Saturday, October 19th.

This is a FREE fun family event that includes pumpkin decorating, bounce house, brushing horses, unicorn/cowboy photo op, candy, and MORE!

The event will be an open house style again this year, so come to New Ground Church first any time between 3-5pm and wrap up at Legacy Stables by 5:30pm. This is a rain or shine event and costumes are encouraged!!

Have you seen a new face in our Costa Rica herd?? Meet Sully! 🐴

Sully is a sweet 15 year old, Appaloosa gelding. He settled right in with us, and has joined some upper level lessons already. He loves getting attention especially scratches and treats! While Sully is only in upper level and staff lessons right now, we are excited to explore which other programs he enjoys as he continues to learn more!

That's a wrap! Our 2024 vaulting season has officially come to a close. It's been an incredible journey filled with ups, downs, and unforgettable moments.

We had the privilege of competing with five teams, two pairs, eight individuals, and six horses across the country. From Michigan to Virginia and North Carolina, we left our mark and made lasting memories.

A highlight of the season was our trot team's outstanding performance. They clinched the reserve national champion title, a testament to their hard work and dedication. Our individual trotters also qualified for Nationals and showcased their skills on the national stage.

Each competition was an opportunity for our teams to grow, improve, and strengthen their bond. We're incredibly proud of the progress they've made and the camaraderie they've developed.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to our vaulters, horses, coaches, and parents. Your support and commitment have been instrumental in our success.

Here's to an incredible 2024 and even brighter futures ahead!
