Our Story
Welcome to Rockhill K9 LLC.
Starting from the ground up, We are in early stages of planning and organizing. Hoping to provide Quality, Loving, Personalized Boarding, Daycare and other activities as needed in our area. Additionally Rockhill will host doggie fun days where dogs and handlers can learn do more things together. There is a wealth of fun sports out there that most people do not know about or do not have access too. We plan to offer Barn hunt and lure coursing for examples. Meanwhile Linda is starting some training classes in Caledonia for Puppies, Beginners , CGC and eventually adding classes by request. We have NEW 1,100 ft. of fencing and working on finishing the basement into a Doggie Den for home style boarding by the end of 2019. We continue to learn and listen to make the lives of our own dogs as well as others better!
My theories on training may be different than some as I believe every dog is different and more importantly every owner/handler is different. The end goals, your level of experience, your dogs temperament and train-ability all make a difference. I of course have my preferred method of training which is mostly the use of positive reward based methods but I also believe that many training tools/collars can be very effective when used correctly. You as the owner/handler have to be comfortable with whatever method you decide to train with. I do not force my beliefs on anybody but I hope to explain my theories and demonstrate when some options may be a better fit for some dogs. Ultimately the owner/handler needs to be comfortable with the training methods used for it to be successful. Training is a life long commitment but, it is truly rewarding training your own dog to be the best dog they can be! -Linda
