Silver Birch Havanese started in 2011 when we found our first female, Maria del Holandes. She is the sweetest, most loving dog we had ever had. Two months later we went back to the breeder and bought a full sister to Maria. Zoe del Holandes, a black with white markings, has added fun and joy to our household. Every dog that visits here is her friend. She is the substitute Mom when any of the dogs
have puppies. She even played Mom when Lila, our standard Goldendoodle, came to live here. She is now helping to raise Zorro, a Maria son that we have decided to keep. One month after Zoe arrived the breeder called again and we went back and adopted Isabella del Holandes. Bella had been purchased before we bought Maria but the people brought her back. She came back very scared with a broken leg from being thrown down the stairs by the buyer’s young son. It took several months for Bella to heal both physically and mentally but she is now our dancing Bella. She will dance in front of any visitors we have until they pick her up. We do not bred Bella. She limps still when the weather is damp and we believe that her purpose is to just give us and all of our visitors joy, and that she does very well. We look far and wide to fine a male that we felt would be the ideal mate to our girls. We found him in Oklahoma. Diego del Holandes, a chocolate and white parti-colored, came to live with us in the summer of 2012. He is a super ambassador for the breed. Not only is Diego flashy, but he is everything a Havanese should be. He is wonderful with all of the babies, even when they try to nurse on him, and he is my constant companion. The following year we went back to Oklahoma and brought back Graciana del Holandes. Gracie is golden sable and white parti-colored. She is from the same breeder as Diego but different bloodlines. From breeding Gracie and Diego we are getting a slightly larger Havanese that a lot of people want. Their puppies mature at about twelve or thirteen pounds where as the puppies Maria and Zoe usually mature at about nine or ten pounds. All of our dogs live in our home and all day long, everyday. The puppies are born in my sewing room and spend their first 3 weeks there. After that they move to the living room where they are exposed to everyday life. They are used to playing with all of the other dogs and delight with hanging on Lila’s tail. Our granddaughter helps with all the care of the puppies and so they are used to being handled by people of all ages. When we sell a puppy we guarantee it’s health against congenital illness for two years. The puppy will come with registration papers, a vet exam, dew claws removed, shots and worming up to date and a goody bag. Future litters
Our next litter is due in early January 2017 from Zoe and Diego. In the past, puppies Zoe and Diego have been black with tuxedo markings, fawn that turns to ivory and chocolate with white or silver markings. They all have been stunning.
