Save A Soul Animal Rescue was founded by Ariana Brooks and Tabitha Musich. Save A Soul Animal Rescue is located on the five-acre and forty-acre homesteads known as Cottontail Acres and Western Skies Ranch in Calhan, Colorado. With the help from each other and our loyal volunteers, Save A Soul rescues and rehabilitates every species of surrendered barnyard animals from the smallest quail to the lar
gest horse. In addition to adopting out animals, we also help reunite lost animals with their families. Some people may ask why we help animals. The answer is simple. Save A Soul believes that every animal, no matter the personality or species deserves a second chance. Whether Save A Soul rescues a scared stray animal wandering the streets, or has a spoiled house pet surrendered to it, the animals’ treatment will always be the same. Each animal will receive plenty of attention and love. We will obtain necessary medical treatment for the animals including obtaining immunizations as well as getting them spayed and neutered. Once an animal is ready for a new home, we conduct a thorough interview process to make sure the animal is placed in a safe, loving home. Sometimes, despite following a careful screening and selection process to find the animal a new home, the new home doesn’t work out for either the animal or the human. When this happens, we take the animal back into our care. Animals that, for one reason or another, cannot be rehabilitated are able to call Cottontail Acres their forever home. Although many animal rescues will come and go, Save a Soul is here to stay. In 2015, Save A Soul began growing organic fruit, vegetables, and herbs to feed to the animals in our care.
