One of our dedicated students riding her new fresh off the track thoroughbred, Tolkien. After having a few weeks to settle in, he is learning a new way of life! Wren is learning to ride a new way as well, but together they make an amazing pair! We absolutely LOVE our OTTBS at Burkart performance horses. We are still booked for our on-site lessons, but if you have your own horse and still want lessons we would love to come out! Even when it’s wet, hot or cold, there are still plenty of exercises to learn on the ground! Horse and rider safety is always top priority so when the conditions aren’t right so instead of staying inside on those days, go down to the barn! There are plenty of exercises for both horse and rider that can be done in most weather related situations. Contact us to get on the wait list for lessons and training. There’s ALWAYS more to learn and we look forward to these lessons as much as a standard riding lesson!

Shout out to Wren and ginger for 3 beautiful rounds and a first place in equitation bringing it home with reserve champion in her division this past weekend. We are so proud! Dear riders…

Remember why you started doing what you do.

Remember the lesson horses that taught you patience, strength and confidence.

Remember your instructors who pushed you to do better.

Remember the long nights staying up when your favorite horse colicked.

Remember the blood sweat and tears you have poured into becoming the rider you are today.

Remember learning everything from the ground up when you didn’t know what a curry comb was.

But most of all, remember how far you have come. This sport is not for the faint of heart. It takes determination, strength, persistence and patience like no other. Look back on the good times, the bad times, the times when you cried and swore you were done. Remember all of it and be thankful to have been blessed by the magnificent animals that have influenced every single part of your life. Let yourself be proud, you have made it farther than you give yourself credit for.
