The hard part is waiting. But William understands that. He’s been waiting his whole life for a Forever Family.

He doesn’t let it get him down. He wags that cute little tale and wiggles his little bum every waking moment. He loves people, hasn’t been bothered by cats, and does well with the other dogs here. He’s energetic at play time, but wants to know if the fact that he sits & settles well on command will earn him any extra points. This boy aims to please, and he loves the belly rubs & pats that come with being the bestest boy!

We estimate William is around 4 years old & weighs in the high-30s, You can see more of him in his album, William Needs a Home, in the Photos/Albums section of our page (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.750265510634713&type=3 on most devices).

Send us an email to [email protected] if you’re interested in William. We will deliver him to the front door of the right adopter almost anywhere in the continental US or southern Ontario for no additional charge over our usual $150 adoption fee. William is hoping his wait is over!

Anna reminded us that those who keep track of these kinds of things say today is National Dog Day. We just laughed and told her we think it’s pretty obvious EVERY day around here is National Dog Day! She agreed, and picked herself a bouquet to celebrate!

This girl is full of energy, but she funnels it all into being a friend to kids and all the other people around her. Except cats, that is … and parrots and ferrets! She has a touch of that prey drive in her, but she adores the bigger animals – horses, dogs her size or larger, probably even elephants, though we haven’t run across any of those yet!

Anna is estimated to be around 2 yrs old, and weighs in the high 40s. She is happy and healthy, and eagerly awaiting the perfect Forever Home.

Take a look at her album, Anna Needs a Home, in the Photos/Albums section of our page (https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.775428778118386&type=3 on most devices) to see what this little gal has been up to! And send us an email at [email protected] if you’d like more info about Anna.

We will transport her to the front door of the right adopter almost anywhere in the continental US or southern Ontario for no additional charge over our usual $150 adoption fee. Anna has another bouquet picked just for you!

Little lady Nelda has one of the gentlest & kindest poopa personalities around! She’s done great in every situation she’s come across here - cats, kids, and other poopas, too!

Today is International Friendship Day. And when our sweet Poopa Anna heard that, she reminded us of the words of a very wise man, Solomon, who said a friend loves at all times!

Little Anna wants you to know she is willing to commit to that promise. She says if you’ve had a bad day, she’ll be there to comfort you. If you haven’t taken a shower, she will give you the kind of sniffs she reserves for only the best of smells! And if you need a wholehearted cuddle, she’s your girl! She’s all ears to listen to your troubles & is saving bushels of slurpy kisses just for you!

Anna has learned a lot in her 2 years on this planet about how to be a friend and how NOT to be a friend. She says she is taking the good stuff she’s learned from her friends - kids, horses, people and other dogs - and putting it into practice. But … she warns you not to listen to the wisdom of cats since she doesn’t really like them herself!

Anna weighs in the high 40s and is becoming quite the girl! We will continue to update her album, “Anna Needs a Home,” as we get to know her better. You can find it in the Photos/Albums section of our page (and at https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.775428778118386&type=3 on most devices).

Send us an email to [email protected] if you’d like more info about Anna. We will transport Anna to the front door of the right adopter almost anywhere in the continental US or southern Ontario for no additional charge over our usual $150 adoption fee. Anna says she will never stop loving you!

We don't know what to do about this, if there is, in fact, any recourse or remedy.

Facebook unpublished/deleted/removed at least 42 Save a Heeler posts since mid June. 💔
We appealed for review & restoration, everytime.
3 or 4 were restored.

Many posts included hundreds or thousands of dollars, each, in pledged but unfulfilled donations, from you, to the rescue orgs saving these babies.
P**f. Gone. 💔

Moreover, they are removing your shared posts for these babies, by the thousands. 💔

And actually chatting or speaking with Facebook support? Nearly impossible. We've dissected every support option & webpage available.

We need help. But we don't know how to get it. 💔

Let’s try this again since the last post did not go as planned……
As some of you know, Lincoln Parish now has an Animal Control Officer that will focus on stray animals inside Lincoln Parish but outside of the city limits of Ruston. This is great news since these animals will have somewhere to go. This position is funded by the Police jury, and the AC officer will be bringing those animals to RAC.
All we were trying to say before is that with the number of animals that will be coming in (now from inside and outside the city limits), euthanasia will be inevitable. If may not be done now, but based on the amount of calls/emails/ visits we get DAILY on animals that need help…..the number of animals entering RAC will increase drastically. The post before was a timeline given to us about how long those animals will have before being put down.
We were not bashing anyone….we are all dealing with this crisis together and want the same positive results.
To reduce the number of animals that will require euthanasia, let’s focus on pushing spay/neuter laws, educate people on low cost S/N and importance of HW prevention, encourage people to adopt or foster, etc.
If you need help inside or outside city limits, see below 👇👇👇👇
