California Veterinary Clinic We're dedicated to providing high quality, individualized and compassionate care for animals and thei The California Veterinary Clinic is a full service clinic.

We treat farm animals, equines and pets. Emergency service is available for after hours emergencies. Appointments will be seen first and walk-ins as time allows. Our practice includes dental, radiographic, lab, and surgical services. We emphasize preventative medicine, proper nutrition and regular examinations to maintain health, as well as diagnosing and treating your pets' illness. We also have

indoor boarding facilities for cats and dogs. We have a large dispensing area for pet products, cattle, swine and equine biologicals, medications and supplies. We carry ADM Mineral and protein/mineral tubs. For large animal services we have a haul-in facility or we will process your animals at the farm if this is more convenient for you. We have scales under our working chute at the clinic so we can weigh each animal individually. We also have a tilt chute at the clinic which we use for hoof trimming. This is especially valuable in the spring for getting your bulls' feet in shape if they are overgrown or the bull is lame. We offer breeding soundness exams for bulls also.

After 30 years of dedicated service, Jo Simmons is ending her time with the California Veterinary Clinic. Please join us for a get together at the clinic on December 31, 2024 from 8:00 am - 12:00 noon to celebrate Jo’s retirement.

Here’s Mylo, an elkipoo, age 6 mos./has been with our elderly aunt for 3 months, but she has discovered she cannot keep up with him.
She bought him from a vet who works for Diamond Pet Co., and who lives about an hour away (south of Eldon); he has had all medicine required up to 4 months.
He is smart (knows several commands), playful, great personality, and doesn’t bark unless someone is at her door & even then only barks once.
HOWEVER, he is not house trained. She knows dogs well and has always had a dog, but she got sick for a few days, “lost ground,” and just doesn’t have enough energy to get him trained.
His mother is a small Norwegian elkhound & father miniature poodle. The vet said he should not weigh over 22 lbs as an adult.
We have attempted to re-home him for about 2 months, since she got sick and decided she has to give him up.
