🎄 The next few weeks are sure to be a little crazy. The holidays will affect our schedule as follows:
Tuesday, December 24th-closed all day. We will reopen on Thursday December 26th.
Tuesday, December 31st-Closing early @ 12:00. We will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd.

If your pet needs vaccines for boarding over the holiday or anxiety meds to deal with all the joy and chaos (😉) please give us a call now!

👩🏻‍⚕️ We are excited to announce that starting January 8th we will be open on Wednesdays and will have a new doctor working with us on that day! We hope that this helps some of you out with scheduling and we’re looking forward to having a new addition to the team.

🛁 If your pet is going to need a bath or bath bundle (bath, ear cleaning, nail trim, and a**l gland expression) please call us now to get on the schedule! We will be offering 20% from now until December 20th.

Happy Veterinary Technician week!!
Did you know that a LVT (licensed veterinary technician) has to go through the same amount of schooling as a human nurse AND has to pass a state and/or national licensing exam?
LVTs are the backbone of the clinic. They perform an insane amount of tasks everyday including but absolutely not limited to:
-blood draw/sample collection/running lab work
-taking X-rays
-placing IV catheters
-calculating and administering medications
-Induction and intubation for surgical procedures
-monitoring patients during anesthesia and recovery
-administering vaccines
-educating and communicating with clients
-record keeping/charting
-scheduling
-bathing, trimming nails, expressing a**l glands
-keeping the doctor on time and on task :)
-comforting and supporting patients and clients during difficult times

Basically if it happens in the vet clinic an LVT is involved.
We are blessed to have 3 licensed veterinary technicians at Calvert City Animal Clinic who love your pets and always have their best interest in mind. It’s a challenging and sometimes exhausting job but they love it and deserve some recognition. If you happened to be in the clinic sometime this week make sure to take a minute to say thank you!

Dr.Kirby is going to be gone for continuing education this Thursday, Friday, and next Monday. We will not have a doctor. If you need to get in for a medical issue please call today or first thing tomorrow. We will be open regular hours and have techs available for med refills and other things.
