!!Announcements!!
🎄 The next few weeks are sure to be a little crazy. The holidays will affect our schedule as follows:
Tuesday, December 24th-closed all day. We will reopen on Thursday December 26th.
Tuesday, December 31st-Closing early @ 12:00. We will reopen on Thursday, January 2nd.

If your pet needs vaccines for boarding over the holiday or anxiety meds to deal with all the joy and chaos (😉) please give us a call now!

👩🏻‍⚕️ We are excited to announce that starting January 8th we will be open on Wednesdays and will have a new doctor working with us on that day! We hope that this helps some of you out with scheduling and we’re looking forward to having a new addition to the team.

🛁 If your pet is going to need a bath or bath bundle (bath, ear cleaning, nail trim, and a**l gland expression) please call us now to get on the schedule! We will be offering 20% from now until December 20th.

Happy Veterinary Technician week!!
Did you know that a LVT (licensed veterinary technician) has to go through the same amount of schooling as a human nurse AND has to pass a state and/or national licensing exam?
LVTs are the backbone of the clinic. They perform an insane amount of tasks everyday including but absolutely not limited to:
-blood draw/sample collection/running lab work
-taking X-rays
-placing IV catheters
-calculating and administering medications
-Induction and intubation for surgical procedures
-monitoring patients during anesthesia and recovery
-administering vaccines
-educating and communicating with clients
-record keeping/charting
-scheduling
-bathing, trimming nails, expressing a**l glands
-keeping the doctor on time and on task :)
-comforting and supporting patients and clients during difficult times

Basically if it happens in the vet clinic an LVT is involved.
We are blessed to have 3 licensed veterinary technicians at Calvert City Animal Clinic who love your pets and always have their best interest in mind. It’s a challenging and sometimes exhausting job but they love it and deserve some recognition. If you happened to be in the clinic sometime this week make sure to take a minute to say thank you!

Dr.Kirby is going to be gone for continuing education this Thursday, Friday, and next Monday. We will not have a doctor. If you need to get in for a medical issue please call today or first thing tomorrow. We will be open regular hours and have techs available for med refills and other things.

👩🏻‍⚕️Just a heads up-we will NOT have a doctor the week after Christmas (26th, 28th, and 29th). If your animal has something going on that needs to be addressed in the near future please plan to bring them next week or know that it will have to wait until January 2nd.
We will have our doctors available at Ceglinski Animal Clinic for emergencies and there will be techs at Calvert to dispense medication, etc.

🎅🏻We will be closed Monday December 25th and Monday January 1st.

🎄Don’t forget we offer baths if you need to get your pet spruced up for the holidays! We have openings Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday next week.
