A very fun retriever clinic this morning at the farm. Ten dog/handler teams, all at different stages in their training, just trying to set the dogs up for success and make some positive improvement. Thanks to all that came. We had a nice breakfast in the barn to start and got to socialize the puppies, then off to the field. Thank you @milkygamblerthornton for the great video!

I love when clients send videos. Here is Conner Murt with Misselchalke Kratos “O’Leary” being sent on a 200 yard line. Epic! 💣 🏴☠️
Creating versatile shooting dogs is one of our passions. With a proper foundation and trust they can do anything with enthusiasm and precision. Misselchalke Kratos (O’Leary) owned by Conner Murt is a perfect example. In the same week he was able to pick up at a driven shoot, rough shoot fast moving pheasants in heavy cover, and retrieve waterfowl from a blind in Alabama. At only 1.5 years old they are well on their way to a lifetime of adventure and unlimited possibilities.

Teaching a young pup recall with a distraction. This is the beginning of teaching a dog “no bird” or “gone away” which will be part of training much later as he matures. The idea is to reward the dog for what you ask rather than impulse 👍🏼
