This Giving Season, CASA is asking for community help covering spay and neuter costs for shelter pets. With veterinary costs on the rise, an increasing number of pets are arriving unspayed and unneutered. Providing spays and neuter services before adoption is crucial in the ongoing effort to decrease the homeless pet population in our community. Animals automatically drop of the website after the hold is up, when they are claimed, adopted, etc.
*Strays may be given temp names which are likely not the actual name of your pet.
**If this is your pet and you do not wish to reclaim/keep them please still let the shelter know so the animal doesn’t need to remain on stay hold. We would also appreciate information that might help us care for them better.

🖤 ADOPTABLE - THRESHER 🖤

Meet Thresher! Thresher is a 1-year-old cat who was found as a stray and is now looking for his forever home. Thresher started off very shy when he first came to us but has grown into our most outgoing cat! He does incredibly well with other cats and cat savvy dogs. Thresher is incredibly lovey and is a huge follower, he just has to know what you're doing! He is very kind and quick to make friends. Thresher is always the one to welcome other cats into the shelter and helps them feel safe and comfortable! He is a fan favorite among the staff, and we just don't know how he hasn't been adopted yet!

🖤 ADOPTABLE - MALIBU 🖤

Meet Malibu! This adorable young chihuahua mix is around 1.5 years old and eager to find her forever home! She is a playful, silly, and sweet girl with an abundance of energy, so she needs an owner who can keep up with her lively spirit. Malibu is a loyal and loving companion who enjoys playing during the day and snuggling at night!

When Malibu first arrived with us in April, she was an emaciated stray. We later discovered she had a liver shunt, which caused neurological issues and significant weight loss. In August, she underwent life-saving surgery, and now, three months later, she is thriving and recovering wonderfully.
While she is doing great now, Malibu will require more vet checkups than an average dog and may need a special diet. She is still working on potty training and establishing boundaries with new people and animals, but she has made significant progress over the past seven months in foster care. Malibu gets along well with dog-savvy cats and dogs but would prefer a home without young children, as she can be overwhelming for them.

This year CASA’s Giving Tuesday fundraising effort is to raise funds to provide spay and neuter services for dogs like Frida. Frida came to CASA after many of her puppies had already gone through the shelter system. Now, it was her turn to find a loving forever home. Before being listed for adoption, Frida was spayed, ensuring that she will lead a healthy life without the risks associated with breeding and potential health or birth complications. Give generously this Giving Tuesday and provide a healthy new beginning for shelter pets like Frida.

Meet Teddy! Teddy is a 7-year-old terrier mix who is looking for his forever home. Teddy can be a little nervous around strangers, but once he warms up his is a sweet, loyal guy! Teddy loves to snuggle and would make a great lap companion for someone needing a friend. He would do best in an adult only home as he is not a fan of kids.
A meet and greet is required with any resident dogs in the home before adoption.

UPDATE ADOPTED!!

🖤 ADOPT ME - VELMA 🖤

VELMA IS WISHING FOR A HOME TO CALL HER OWN.

This sweet girl is Velma. Velma has been at CASA for 7 months now and is starting to wonder why no one has taken her home. Velma is loving, loyal, kind, playful and very smart. She bonds strongly to her people and is a dedicated and loyal friend. She loves to play fetch, zoom around the yard, give kisses, and show affections to those she trusts. Velma does well with most other dogs but prefers canine companions who are similar in size. She is cat friendly, maybe even too friendly; Velma wants to play with her feline friends and would do best with a dog savvy cat. Velma has never been around children; with proper introduction we believe she could live with older children who are respectful of dog's boundaries. Velma has been overwhelmed and nervous since entering the shelter system. She reacts by barking and hiding from shelter visitors. She was devastated by her displacement and took some time to warm up to staff and volunteers at CASA. She has shown us her true self, congruent with the information provided by her previous owner. Velma will blossom in a safe and secure home environment! This sweet girl is a true gem. She is hoping someone out there is willing to give her chance.

🖤 ADOPTABLE - BEAR 🖤

Meet Bear! This guy is about 10 months old and ready for adoption! Bear will need a patient owner who is willing to work with him to get him out of his comfort zone. Once he comes out of his shell, he is incredibly sweet and cuddly. He would prefer a quiet household, as an only pet. Bear has been an indoor cat his entire life and will need to stay that way.
If you like an independent cat, Bear is the one for you!

🖤 ADOPTABLE - SHIVA 🖤

Meet Shiva! This beautiful girl is a 1-year-old Husky who is looking for her forever home. Shiva is a sweet, lovable gal who loves people. She is very smart and knows a few commands such as sit and shake! Shiva will definitely need a home with a yard with a 6ft fence as she is a curious Husky who likes to wander. She has lived with other dogs before and has done very well with them!
A meet and greet is required with any resident dogs in the home before adoption. Shiva would do best in a Husky experienced home.
