This beautiful little angel needs a forever home! He is the final kitten of a litter of 4 to find a home; we think maybe because his siblings are more rambunctious and flamboyant they got swooped up first. He is soooo sweet, a little bit reserved but he definitely likes to play and cuddle. He was born April 7th, 2024, is healthy as can be and has been raised with his kitty mama and family so he is well socialized. Despite the success of our recent adoption event, due an influx of dogs in we find our dog kennels overcrowded. Support local animal welfare by getting an animal out of the shelter for a few days or for a lifetime.

Happy Friday everyone! One of our clients is looking to rehome their beautiful girl Ginger, a 15mo Formosan Mountain Dog with a heart of gold. She's a total sweetheart who loves to play with her ball, go for walks, and get lots of kisses. She is a rare breed known for being extremely loyal, alert, intelligent and brave.

Ginger has no health issues and gets along well with other dogs.

If any of you are looking for a new kitty or doggy family member, please consider checking out the Los Angeles County shelters located across the county -- Agoura, Baldwin, Carson, Castaic, Downey, Lancaster, and Palmdale. The LA County shelters have recently taken in over 230 animals (195 cats and 43 dogs) who were seized from inhumane conditions at a so-called "rescue" facility in Antelope Valley. They've been held as evidence for the trial since October 2022 and they're finally ready to be adopted. Imagine the immense love and attention they'll need to heal them from their traumatic past. ❤️‍🩹

L.A. County animal care officials are looking for new homes for dozens of cats rescued from an Antelope Valley facility — including some that require particular living situations.

Friends... my heart aches to share the news that my beautiful boy Leo has transitioned to the next realm. At 1am on Christmas morning, my Leo took his last breath while lying peacefully on my chest. ❤️‍🩹

Leo spent almost four years at the clinic and it was always my greatest fear that he would die alone; being granted the opportunity to hold him as he passed is the greatest gift. We even had an entire year together at home, snuggling every day and night, eating plenty of treats and getting lots of sun. He even developed a very sweet and meaningful friendship with my partner's cat Ella.

Leo lived a beautiful life and touched so many hearts in his time here. I could go on for days with all the incredible ways Leo brought joy to my life.

Liz Manvell thank you for bringing Leo into my life. So many things had to fall into place in order for Leo's and my paths to cross, I feel we were divinely destined for each other. I loved every minute with him and will always hold our sweet memories together close to my heart. His spirit is safe within my soul forever. Many thanks to you and Ben and all who loved Leo all those years. There will never be another one like him. 💞🐾

Good afternoon friends,

We at Dr. Battier's and the entire veterinary community share your concerns about the recent uptick in canine respiratory illness of unknown cause. As of November 16th, there have been ten reported cases in Los Angeles County. We haven't heard about any reported cases in Ventura County, but given our close proximity and the increase in dog boarding during the holiday season, we anticipate that will change.

To be safe, we'd recommend avoiding facilities with multiple dogs in an enclosed area, including dog boarding hotels, grooming facilities, and dog parks.

As for our own hospital, we are monitoring the situation in our community and are continuing to adhere to our sanitizing protocols for dogs with respiratory illness. If you notice your dog is coughing, sneezing, lethargic, has runny eyes/nose, and/or decreased appetite, please separate your dog from other dogs and give us a call so we can evaluate your dog for this illness.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we wait to learn more about this outbreak. In the meantime, take good care and feel free to call with any questions. 🐾
