Steve Reed, husband of Amy Reed (Owner of Mostly Mutts) passed away 6-18-2024 from a 14 month battle with stage 4 lung cancer. We are having a celebration of his life at the rescue on his beloved property and shop on July 20th 11:00-2:00. There will be snacks and drinks. Many of you knew Steve as he was so much a part of the operation here. Please come out we would love to see you.

Meet Penny and Pinky. There is a big story behind these 2 girls.
They were in a shelter in Bakersfield, CA with their mom and 6 other siblings. Amy rescued them all!! The owner was found and didn't want them so they were surrendered to the shelter. All of the babies were covered with sarcoptic mange as you can see in the before and after pictures. Penny is 9 months old and Pinky is 5 months old. They have the same mom and they are very much bonded because of the horrendous living conditions, then on the street picked up by animal control then to us. We realize the odds are small that they could be adopted together but wanted to tell their story. They are pit mixes, very shy and will need enormous love and patience. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST

Meet Peanut. This sweet baby girl was an owner surrender at 6 weeks old now 3 1/2 months and wanting her own family. She is so friendly and outgoing loves everybody and all dogs. Plays with all the big dogs. Loves car rides hasn't been on leash yet but is super smart and wants to please.

Hi Everyone
We will be at this event with Uno and Princess. Many of you know Uno he has been in foster care for 2 years and he needs a forever home. As many of you know, he has a medical condition that requires medication daily and a special diet. He is a great dog he plays so well with all the dogs in his pack including a cpl of Chihuahua's!! Princess is really a PRINCESS. She is a super happy 4 month old puppy that loves everybody looking for her own family.

Meet Bayley. This girl is so awesome! She is beautiful (just look at that face) she loves everybody all people, all dogs! She is small for a pitty not very tall and under 50 pounds. She came to us from a shelter in Bakersfield with her 6 puppies. She was picked up as a stray, owners were found but said they didn't want her. The horror of stories like this. Thanks to Amy, she and her babies were saved. She will make a wonderful family pet. She is very low key and super affectionate.

Hello Mostly Mutts Fans! These 3 babies came from an owner surrender :( They are all girls, 3 months old and weigh about 5 pounds. Left: TJ, Bottom Right: DJ and Top Right is MJ.
They are Chihuahua and Terrier mixes.

UNO - Christmas 2023
Many of you will recognize Uno ...as of Dec 18th Uno has been with us for 2 years. Many of you helped with his surgeries and medical care 2 years ago. The surgery was not successful as we reported and not only that but more shunts are growing. Uno is in foster care with Lori (a volunteer and Dear Friend) we were told his life expectancy was 5-7 years so if all goes well we hope he is able to live another 5. WE NEED HELP!!! His ongoing care costs over $500.00 a month. He has special food that is $221.00/month. he is on 3 medication (for life) which account for the $500 then his medical checkups! WE ARE ASKING IF THERE ARE SOME OF OUR FOLLOWERS THAT WOULD BE WILLING/ABLE TO SPONSOR UNO WITH A MONTHLY DONATION?? $10.00/MONTH =$120.00/YEAR,
$25.00/month=300.00 a year etc. Maybe even sponsor a month! ANY AMOUNT will help us help us continue to help UNO live his best life as long as he can.

Meet Lacey
A 5 month old Terrier Mix. She is tiny, she is cute as can be but she is very strong willed. She will need a strong leader as she thinks she is part bulldog or rottie - She has been with 2 puppies from another litter and plays well she just wants to be boss.
She will need puppy classes after adoption.

Meet Jack (left) and Jake! They are Chihuahua mixes that came to us from a shelter in CA with mom shortly after being born. There is a sister named Jada looks similar to Jack (could not upload her pic) darn!! Happy New Year Friends!!
This is Ari. She has been with us for 18 months. She really needs her own family (as every dog does in rescue) she is smart loves to walk on our treadmill, everyone she meets is a friend. She has lived with a cat and had a best friend here at the rescue (Reggie) that has since gone over the Rainbow Ridge. She has missed him greatly
Her downside is she is reactive on leash. She has been working with our Trainer and there has been improvement - hence her walking on the treadmill so she has her exercise. She would do best as an only dog or one male dog. Please share... someone out there is a perfect match for her. Everyone here loves her but its not enough. Text Amy 360.513.8887

Merry Christmas Friends of Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue!!!
This kiddo is one of the lucky ones. Not one of ours, but our wish for all shelter animals especially the Pitties they have the highest euthanasia rate in the country so every one that gets rescued shud definitely facetime Santa!!!

Meet Millie (on the right) and Memphis (left) These 2 girls are 3 months old and will be ready for their new famillies at the end of this month. Their mom (pictured here) is a 30 pound Black wire haired terrier mix. She had 5 babies and NONE of them look like her. WE have no idea what the puppies are mixed with and its good they were born here otherwise it would be hard to believe she (Pepper) was the mom!! If interested in adopting, please go to:

They are 2 months and still out a bit to complete their vaccines and to be neutered. 1st pic (Black and white) 2pawc, 2nd pic top right is Tucker and bottom right is Flash. . Meet Ragner.. Ragner is a 3 year old Pit/Boxer mix. He is good with other dogs and we are looking for a hope with another female dog for him to play with. He is good with all people and kid's. He weighs 52 lbs so a really good size too! He is not doing well in the shelter environment and needs a home ASAP!!! Please share..

Meet Romeo; A 14 month Rat Terrier mix. He is a great size at 17 pounds, he's full of energy (he's still a baby) and he was in a shelter too long. He likes all people, kid's and dogs. Meet Junior...
Junior is 3 months old of adorable puppy!! He is good around everyone, everything. He loves people, kid's dog's super socialized!
