For any one with saved hay or any donations of hay that will be brought in. If we can centralize hay drop offs and feed trucks we can grind at numerous locations to people needing to get feed to livestock and feed trucks can shuttle ground hay from anywhere we can get our grinders in and out. If livestock are needing to be shipped out we also can make pen space available at Daffer Feedyard!

We have started carrying GENEX/SCCL brand colostrum. There are 3 different levels of these products. The left bag provides 60 IgG, the middle bag provides 150 IgG (you can mix with water and feed directly out of the bag, easier for tubing) and the right bag provides 200 IgG. In simpler terms, the left bag is for supplementing colostrum when the calf has already been on the cow but may still need an extra boost. The middle bag is a good replacement when the calf hasn’t nursed. And the right bag is the highest concentration and quality, giving the calf the greatest boost.

The calf’s ability to absorb colostrum and receive passive immunity greatly diminishes 6 hours after birth. For maximum absorption, it is recommended to feed colostrum within the first two hours so keep some on hand for whenever you need it. With the cold weather sticking around for awhile make sure your calves get off to a good start.
