Zaz is making amazing progress! These clips might not look like much, but this is the foundation of her training. I’ve spent so much time on teaching her how to stay relaxed on the ground, that it translates to her under saddle work. I unfortunately don’t have updated riding videos. She’s been moving off my leg/seat, seeking contact at the walk, walking over poles, standing calmly, and some relaxed trot work!

3 month transformation of Zaz! She’s coming along so well. I’m super happy with her physical change, especially her posture(more relaxed and utilizing correct muscles). She has also come a long way mentally as well, she can be anxious when away from her friends so I’ve been working with her on staying connected and relaxed. So proud of her!

A few exciting projects have been completed this week. Our driveway is finally fixed, no more potholes!

Also, I scraped paddock 1 and filled in the shelter and next to the auto waterer. So much better!

First ride on Zaz! I don’t know if she’s been ridden since retiring from racing, so I’ve been taking my time with her. I kept this ride short and sweet, I was on her for about 4 minutes. I believe all first rides when starting a horse should be this way to ensure they have a positive experience. Zaz did everything I asked of her and definitely exceeded my expectations. She’s so sensitive and was already moving/stopping off my leg/seat! I’m so excited for her future!

Appreciation post for Cooper! He’s had some health issues the past month or so and is finally feeling better! I’m so thankful that he’s better and fingers crossed he stays that way. He is such a special boy🥰

Zaz walked into the barn for the first time this morning like she had been in here a thousand times before. I’m sooo happy with how she did. I was able to get her groomed and hooves picked while she stood there without being tied up. She’s going to be a hard one to sell❤️
