Well said. DO SOMETHING if you want something to change. Get off your keyboard and foster, donate, volunteer, put in the effort. AND if you don’t want to do that then stay off our page.

I’m so sorry for what I’m about to post, but I must vent.

Let’s set up the scenario… You see a post about an animal from a shelter or rescue that you don’t agree with.

😿 Perhaps they are returning a TNR kitten outside when you think they are young enough to be socialized and adopted out.
😿 Maybe they are warning of euthanasia and you think the animal deserves more time.
😿 Did you tag them in a comment about an animal needing help and they never answered?
😿 How about an injured animal they are announcing they may put down when you feel like the injury is not that severe?

All valid thoughts, right? Here’s the thing, instead of telling THEM what THEY should do from behind your keyboard, why don’t YOU help? ✅ If you don’t like the way something is being done, do it differently. 💞 Telling someone else how to run their own organization is not helping anything. 🚫 If you truly feel the organization is doing something inhumane, get someone with authority involved (but if that were the case, they probably wouldn't be posting about it in the first place. 🤔)

I see this “advice” posted all the time:
“Don’t give up on him/her.”

Shelters and rescues do not “give up”. They are the most not giving up people I’ve ever met in my life! 🙌 BUT, they are “big picture” people. They are forced to be. While people reading posts are considering only that ONE story, the shelter has many animals and situations they are dealing with Every. Single. Day. and a limited amount of funds, space, time, volunteers, etc to do it with. 😿 So before you condemn decisions that organizations are making, consider offering actual solutions.

Don’t want that kitten put back outside? Offer to put the time in to foster, socialize and rehome it. Don’t want that doggy put down? Offer to adopt it or foster it or pay the vet bill. And if you can’t do those things, why do you expect they can? Ohhh... because they are an “organization”? That only means they are helping a MULTITUDE of needy animals! Some days hard choices have to be made and it’s because no one has stepped up to help. ‼️ If you want to see a difference, BE the difference. ‼️

People who work in animal welfare typically don’t do it for the money. They don’t do it because they like to see animals suffer. They don’t do it for popularity. They do it for the love of animals. And their job is hard and they are so, so tired. Do not add to their stress by trying to manage their decisions from the comfort of your home.

If you follow us on TikTok you would have gotten a sneak peek of these adorable babies already! 😻

We took in this litter of all orange, male babies the first week of January! They were found out in this cold and would have never survived on their own.

Goldfish 🐟
Home Depot 🛠️
Traffic cone 🚗
Circus peanut 🥜

They will be available for adoption once they have met weight requirements to be neutered! Please do not fill out an application until we post them as available!

I will post updates periodically as these boys grow up! 🥰

Euthanasia by injection. Administering a compassionate and humane death.

Paige and I completed the HSUS 16 hour euthanasia by injection curriculum.

Why did we do this?
Anyone in animal rescue does not want an animals life to end. In an ideal world, every animal gets to live and thrive. But due to the lack of responsibility of humans, unfortunately that is not reality.
We took this course to be educated on WHY euthanasia is okay. To learn the MOST humane way to complete the daunting task. To learn all of the details that go into giving an animal a proper, peaceful ending from this cruel world humans have created.
We want to be-able to provide this service to the cats in our community that need it the most. To end the suffering.

During the time that Paige and I completed this course, we were also able to go visit the animal shelter that was putting it on, along with speak with the volunteers, employees, owners, etc. about HOW important it is to be a shelter that can offer this service.
Look at every “no kill” shelter. When they are full, they turn away hundreds if not thousands of unwanted animals away. We have even been guilty of turning cats away but we need to change that. We are not a “no kill” organization we are a no suffering organization.

If you do not believe in euthanasia, PLEASE volunteer at your local HIGH VOLUME cat rescue anytime during the summer months and you will see the reality of what humans have caused.

Think about this.
Is living enough?

Is living the definition of a good life?
Simply just living.
Is that the definition of good?
If the animal is alive, that is better than being dead right?

We will continue to use our platform to educate. Euthanasia needs to be talked about.
Before you make any negative comments about what we or any rescue does make sure you sit and think about the REASONING these hard working individuals have to make these awful and tough decisions.
It’s the PEOPLE who didn’t SPAY & NEUTER their cats. The people who threw their cats outside because they just didn’t want them anymore. The people who couldn’t surrender their cat to a local shelter/rescue because their cages were full and were turned away so they also threw them out.

Remember all of the reasoning behind WHY rescues and shelters even have to operate. THE PEOPLE.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions regarding humane euthanasia. Our mission stays the same. To educate and help the cat welfare/population of Guernsey County.

It was an instant connection with these two 🥹 The was he curled up in her arms, ugh. 🥰

Leo was brought to the rescue after he was found inside a cabinet in the new Meadowbrook school! Maybe he was trying to stay warm or look for food? Who knows!
He was FeLv/FIV tested, vaccinated, dewormed, received flea/tick medication, neutered and had a hernia repaired! All because of YOU, who support and donate to what we do!

Adult cats are often over looked in rescue. To have a family interested in him so quickly made me extremely happy.

Leo went off to his forever home today. He will know nothing but love from now on. 💗
Happy Adoption Day! ✨🏡😻

I present ✨Randall Lickbutt✨
And yes, your eyes do not deceive you! He does have thumbs! 😻🫘

Randall is currently not available for adoption as we are waiting for him to make weight to be neutered! Our cats & kittens ARE NOT adopted out until they have been vetted and fixed!
We would prefer adoption applications not be filled out until said cat is posted as available to adopt! Thank you!
