2021 was so good to us even though it was a year of lots of changes. Elie started the year on Westin and Kendall on Quicksilbur. When Elie went off to college, we decided to step Kendall’s horse down to a lower level and Westin became Kendall’s new mount. Ireland showed Sally and Rhonda’s Can’t keep a Secret for half the season and had great success and Delaney and Revlon worked hard preparing for next season and getting to know each other, finishing this year at their first show together with a Reserve Champion. So many fun memories made this year at the farm and at the shows.

Although 2021 was amazing, 2022 will be a little different view for me. This will be my final post on this page because I have made the hard decision to close my business. I will still be around teaching once a week and at a horse show here and there (to get my horse fix), but I’ve decided to slow down and focus on my family and enjoy our new life on the coast in Grantsboro, NC.

Turned out to be a beautiful (and extremely hot) Saturday! It was a successful day for Kendall and her horse Westin and our new neighbors at the farm, Kathryn and her horse Mattis finishing first and second place in the PSJ 2’6” Ovation Derby today in Aiken! Congratulations ladies!

We enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the PSJ show on John’s Island this weekend! We got to spend time with great friends, relax some on the beach in between classes and the girls and ponies were all amazing! Ireland and Goose were fabulous in a large walk trot division winning a 2,3,4, and 5! Kendall and her horse Westin spent the weekend getting to know each other and came home with double champion in the pre-child’s eq and hunter divisions. So proud of these girls for all of their hard work! Thank you Elie for coming to help out Sunday and being Kendall and Westin’s biggest cheerleader!

I had a hard time keeping this a secret but I’m so happy that Westin gets to stay in the barn! Congratulations to the Stevens family on your purchase of Westin! So happy to announce that Wilbur has found his next kid! Congratulations to Eloise Ervin on her lease of QuickSilbur! We hope you enjoy this boy as much as we have. This pair has already started having success in the crossrails division and I’m sure there will be many more successful weekends ahead of them! Special thanks to the Stevens family for allowing Wilbur to teach another kid and to trainer Lauren Allen for putting this match together!

A little over a year ago, Elie lost her first horse to colic and a few months later this sweet boy Westin fell into our laps and into our hearts. He gave Elie her confidence back and won a few ribbons along the way. We were able to squeeze one more show out this past weekend and they had a great showing winning Champion in the 15-17 eq, great ribbons in the junior hunters and making it into the handy round of the derby out of 30 finishing just out of the ribbons. It’s always sad to see the kids graduate and move on to the next phase of their life but I’m sure Elie will be back to see us when she comes back to town. Best of Luck to you Elie as you head off to college in the fall, I’m sure you will do big things in life and our barn doors are always open to you! Special thanks to Valentina for allowing us to have this beautiful boy this year in the barn. Thank you to the Griggs family for trusting me with Elie and keeping snacks on the table at the shows! It won’t be the same without you guys! 😢 As for Westin, he’s found his next kid and will be back on the show scene soon!
