WE NEED YOUR HELP TO ACHIEVE THIS IMPERATIVE EFFORT!
This year has been extremely challenging to many non-profit organizations, Animal Guardian Network at Healing River Ranch is no exception.
The only thing that hasn’t changed or been affected is the record number of animals being neglected, abused, and discarded.
Reputable sanctuaries and rescues are extremely misused and underrated resources. They are expected to run with minimal support and funding yet be immediately available to assist in every situation. This is just not reasonable.
Animal Guardian Network at Healing River Ranch has worked tirelessly to maintain the highest standards while striving to make improvements to achieve sustainability.
Our greatest expense is hay. We met with several suppliers to negotiate discounted pricing. The only way we can achieve this is establishing a wholesale account which requires purchasing large quantities at a time. This will require an upfront investment and the ability to have proper storage.
Achieving our goal will mean a $24,000 annual savings. That significantly impacts Animal Guardian Network at Healing River Ranch’s ability to continue providing sanctuary to the most underserved demographic, elderly and special needs animals.
Unlike assisted living facilities for humans, there are rarely provisions made for subsidizing this type of care for animals.

Perfect weather for a couple Pup Rides!!
Miku and Butter took in their sensory buffets today on the Pup Rider while we covered lots of miles through Camp Verde with a scenic diversion to Montezuma’s Castle.
Special shout out to our co-pilot Shelley Hoover for making sure the pups stayed safe and secure. Shelley also made sure the all the laundry was done and pup food pantry restocked!!
We may be a small team but we are mighty!!
This 18 year old Ping. She has no teeth, a heart condition and anxiety but that does not keep her from enjoying a Full Belly!!
Thank you to everyone that helps Animal Guardian Network provide a well cared for “best of their life”.

Breakfast in the Burro Canyon. They all take their time sauntering over for their hay.
It’s so meaningful how peaceful life is for them now. No one is starving or afraid it will be a day of hunger.
Ranch Fact...
The burros that live in the Burro Canyon are fed twice a day. They consume two full bales of Bermuda daily.
Here’s how you call the big guy in for dinner.
Over 1,600 pounders of pure heart. I think Moose has figured out he’s one special boy ❤️
Mealtime adventures with Dobbie.
Our Dobbs is a messy little eater but definitely not the messiest of our senior bunch.
He takes his time with each and every tiny morsel in his bowl.
Getting old isn’t about what you can’t do it’s about finding joy in what you can do.
Thank you for supporting the comfort time for these formerly unwanted seniors.

Today was a very big day at Healing River Ranch!
Our retired Officer Moose got his first experience in sanctuary freedom. He’s been enjoying a large covered habitat with very soft footing so we could manage his hoof care up until now.
First the herd was corralled so Moose could explore without the distractions of all his adoring horse friends who he has never been turned out with.
Moose stepped through the gate with a new fire in his eyes as he took in the seemingly endless sites, sounds, feels and smells.
It will take some time, and we will take it slow, to toughen up his feet and awaken a whole bunch of muscles that have been on vacation along with his senses and mind.
We are so deeply honored and grateful to be guardians on Moose’s journey.
Thank you for supporting our efforts.

There is a huge misconception about horses that end up at kill pens and auctions. People believe they are of a “less than” quality. Something must be “wrong” with them for them to have ended up there.
The truth is something is wrong with them. A human failed on their commitment to them. Some are saved but many end up bound for slaughter.
This is Renegade. We took kill from a kill pen in Oklahoma. He was 200 pounds underweight and his spirit was broken. He also was a stallion which no one noticed.
Once he arrived here at Healing River Ranch we started right away on his nutritional rebuild, provided him with proper hoof care, had his teeth done and he underwent castration surgery.
Today this is Renegade. He is one of the most magnificent horses.
THIS is just a small part of your donation dollars at work. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of your donation goes to provide for the 80 animals in our care. Thank you for making their lives thrive at Animal Guardian Network.

Sanctuary Freedom
The impact of relocating to our new facility, Healing River Ranch in Camp Verde, AZ., has been significant.
We expanded our sanctuary from 1.25 acres to 21+ acres of endless ability to help the most disinfranchised. A significant additional program we were able to launch because of our move was providing sanctuary freedom to formerly wild mustangs.
Please consider becoming a monthly freedom supporter or a one-time donor. There are so many more in need of preservation. So many more that need their voices heard and choice not to be broken honored.
To support our restoration and preservation efforts please visit our website at www.animalguardiannetwork.org. If you prefer you can mail your gift to 522 W. Finnie Flat Rd., Ste. E630 Camp Verde, AZ 86322.
