So....we are please to introduce Wednesday! She is a blue tabby point Siberian. We will be adding a boyfriend for her this summer. Fingers crossed for kittens next year. She definitely has a unique personality! Wednesday is keeping our Maine C***s on their toes!

HOW MUCH DOES A KITTEN COST?

Let me say a few words for you, yes you, the person who writes an email, just to ask the price. The person who calls and after hearing a surprising price says: "I can get a kitten cheaper elsewhere." I'm talking to you too; the person who doesn't care about papers because they want "just a pet".

No cat is "just a pet".

Behind every purebred kitten is a BREEDER. I use capital letters to differentiate a breeder from a pet factory. A reputable breeder will not breed undocumented cats, which does not protect the integrity of the breed. Records (papers) are bloodline records that document bloodline and allow the investigation of possible health issues in the bloodline. When you tell a breeder you don't care about papers, you're really telling them you don't about the kitten's health, just the cheapest thing you can find! When you buy a kitten from a reputable, high-quality breeder, that breeder is responsible for the health of each kitten; that breeder is skipping vacation, losing sleep, and most of the space of their personal home has been converted into space for their cats. A truly passionate creator who loves what he creates puts his whole heart and soul into it. Not only with kittens that are sold, but with each customer that has a piece of their heart and is now an extended family member. Breeders care about their babies after they leave and accept them back without question.

A breeder will “get their hands dirty,” often overwhelmed with everything that comes with childbirth. Cause thats what life is all about... In between birth and death lies life. The wheel that keeps on turning A breeder performs tests, x-rays, tests, emergency surgeries, vaccines, pedigree, deworming and microchips for his kittens and has them evaluated by specialists.

Last, but not least, a breeder chooses the family lucky enough to have one of their kittens. Yeah, you read that right. A true creator chooses who to sell to because he doesn't make money selling. No compensation that can compensate the investments made by a creator. So they need to make sure they fit properly. More often in saying no than yes... A good breeder has different criteria for those who want to continue his bloodline. Why? Since creation is not a responsibility to be taken lightly, it's a lifestyle choice reserved ONLY for the few devotees who are willing to sacrifice.

Because a cat is never "just a pet", it is the legacy of the breeder, a best friend of a little boy, a protector of a girl, a therapy for the elderly, a member of the family, someone's entire world!!!
