As small business week comes to an end, take a look at these final adorable throwback photos showcasing our journey! 🥰 🐾

Let's dive into the latest chapter of JFP. With our team growing and appointments increasing, it was time for a new chapter - a new location! We were determined to stay in Campton Hills, so when a building became available just 500 feet away, we knew it was meant to be!

And along with the relocation, we thought it would be a great opportunity to give our logos and theme colors a fresh new look too. (and of course, add Bogey as our mascot logo! 🩵)

We inquired with John and Lindsay about their top priorities for the new building— they both agreed that our bathing room needed a complete makeover. Lindsay emphasized that it was the room that experienced the most activity, with water, fur, and blow dryers constantly in use. Therefore, we needed ample space to accommodate all these activities. And indeed, the room received the necessary upgrade! The bright, open, and clean bathing room has become everyone's favorite part of our new establishment, even the pups! 🤗

John further elaborated on the need for a more efficient space— “Our staff was working in tight corridors and our lease was running up. It was the perfect time to move and upgrade our salon. We wanted to be able to provide a great work environment for our amazing, hardworking staff.”

And we do have the most amazing team! We're thankful to have such supportive and inspiring colleagues. Every team member contributes their own special passion and viewpoint, making our salon a truly talented bunch ✨

✨ Happy Small Business Week! ✨

In honor of this special occasion, we wanted to take a moment to share our journey and the incredible story behind the creation of Just For Paws. Back in November 2014, we proudly opened our doors, and now, we are thrilled to be approaching our TEN-year anniversary! Can you believe it? Join us through out this week as we reveal the incredible journey of John and Lindsay who brought this amazing business to life. Woof! 🐾

John always had an inkling he wanted to start his own business. His passion for animals, the expertise he acquired from grooming at different dog salons, and the skills he developed while working at kennels all contributed to this desire. After completing his college education and honing his skills for over four years, John finally seized the chance to embark on the next phase of his life: opening a high quality pet grooming salon called Just For Paws! 🩵

John knew in his heart that Campton Hills was the perfect spot to kickstart this business venture. With the help of his wife Lindsay and their two pups Nugget & Bogey, they formed an unstoppable team! After finding the right location, they wasted no time in turning it into their dream space. By November 2014, they were ready to open their doors and cater to all the happy pups looking for a pampering session in the area.

At the time, Lindsay worked full-time as a middle school teacher during the week and helped out at the salon on weekends. Over time, Lindsay became more involved with Just For Paws. Then, a great idea came to them: what if we expanded Just For Paws into a high quality pet supply store? And that's how the journey began. Lindsay made the switch from teaching to dedicating herself full time to JFP!

JFP's grand opening was a hit, and as they settled into the groove of being a new business, they found success! ✨

What's John's definition of success? We went ahead and asked him, and here's what he had to share— “Success is when you can go to work everyday and enjoy what you do. Being able to provide an amazing work environment, being able to work with amazing people, being able to spend my day with happy pups is what success looks like to me. At the end of the day, you have to be happy. Happiness brings success and success brings happiness.”

Everything seems like a challenge when you are starting a new business. There is a mix of excitement, anxiety, uncertainty, and hope for the future. There's no manual for it, but that's what makes it exciting. Each day brings a new challenge and we're thrilled to be a part of it! 🐶 ❤️

- Jenny has a pup named Gino, who is a mix of miniature poodle! She’s had Gino since he was only a few months old, and now he’s a sweet senior at 14 ❣️

- She enjoys grooming the nervous and senior dogs the most! She consistently demonstrates a deep level of attentiveness during check-in interactions and ensures her furry clients look and feel their best. Personalizing each grooming session is a priority for her! 🐾 ❤️ ✨

- Jenny is a big fan of traveling! Among all the places she has visited, Greece and Sicily have a special place in her heart.

- Her favorite local spot to grab food is Just Kabobs in St Charles! 🥙

- During her spare time, she is really into indoor rock climbing! She also enjoys exploring different local fairs and farmers markets 🍊

We feel so lucky having Jenny our team! Her grooming skills are top-notch, and she always goes above and beyond to ensure each groom is done with care and affection. What’s even more amazing is her ability to make even the most anxious pups feel comfortable and confident. She is an amazing friend and team player, and we are so grateful for her 🥰

Just For Paws was founded in 2014 by John Webb. John is an animal enthusiast who has always had a desire to work with animals. His first job working with animals came as a kennel assistant and bather while he was attending Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Shortly after he started working as a kennel assistant, John knew his passion for dogs would propel him to a career that he would love. After graduating from Saint Ambrose University with a degree in Marketing, John set his goal for a career and his own business in the animal industry.

Not knowing exactly where to start, John decided to look into the grooming industry. He discovered a well known grooming school called The Academy of Dog Grooming Arts in Arlington Heights. While attending grooming school, John endured a 500+ hour program where he learned everything from nail trims and ear cleaning to breed standard haircuts and animal CPR. Following his graduation from grooming school, John began to build a clientele of loyal customers while working at grooming salons in St. Charles and Geneva. After 5 years of grooming, John decided to take the next step and open a salon of his own.

After 3 years of happy clients and happy dogs, John and his wife Lindsay, decided to take the next step and expanded the business to include a retail boutique specializing in high quality dog food, treats, toys and gifts. Just For Paws is proud to offer exclusive dog foods, treats and toys not found in your typical “big box” store. They offer grain-free, frozen raw and freeze-dried raw food and treats. Just For Paws is now proud to be a one stop shop for all your dog’s needs!
