When calling FVEP is important to call our main number 630-365-5600. This number transfers to the answering service after hours. We have had instances of clients calling back line phone numbers. These lines go to a voice mail box that is only monitored during office hours.

Vet Tech Spotlight

Cassie Lesko

Cassie called FVEP 3 years ago, looking for a job. Cassie has a Bachelor’s in Animal Science w/ a concentration in Pre-Vet from U of I. She worked for Equine Vet, Dr. Brodd for 4 years before his retirement. We couldn’t hire her fast enough!

Cassie enjoys emergency calls and assisting with gastroscopes.

Cassie, her husband Josh and 2 daughters, Courtney (12) and Cami (3) live on a working farm. They raise and show pigs all over Illinois. They have taken home several blue ribbons.

In her free time, Cassie enjoys baking with her girls and working with the pigs. Her favorite vacations are anywhere with a beach and sunshine.

Vet Tech Spotlight

Annie O’Neill, CVT

Annie has been with Fox Valley Equine for over a year. Annie started with FVEP as an extern from Fox College. She joined FVEP full-time after her externship. She took the VTNE exam and is a Certified Vet Tech.

Annie has been around horses her whole life and is very comfortable with them. Dr. Heinze jokes that horses love Annie because she wears alfalfa perfume. She started riding at the age of 8, and currently owns 2 mares, Hallie and Lacie.

Annie feels home on the range…the gun range. She shoots trap whenever she gets a chance. She also enjoys line dancing, fishing and spending time with her Miniature Pinscher, Pogo.

Vet Tech Spotlight

Martin Martinez, CVT

Martin has been with Fox Valley Equine for 4 years. He started out as an extern from Fox College. We were so impressed with him that we offered him a job. Martin possesses a “super-power”; He speaks English and Spanish fluently.

Martin has extensive horse experience. He grew up helping his dad at the Chicagoland racetracks, grooming and hotwalking Thoroughbreds.

Martin recently purchased a 6-horse trailer and hauls horses in his free-time. It isn’t unusual for Martin and his brother to take a load of horses down to and from Florida over a weekend.

Martin is currently single. Any lady who wishes to date Martin will be fully vetted by his FVEP family, to determine her worthiness.

Vet Tech Spotlight

Heather Baltikas, CVT

Heather has been with Fox Valley Equine for 12 years. She is one of 3 Certified Vet Techs. Certified Vet Techs can perform blood draws, administer vaccines, take x-rays, perform laser therapy, microchipping and run fluids, to name a few. Heather has also performed euthanasia in emergency situations, when a vet is too far away.

Heather has been with her husband Bill for 25 years. They have 2 children, a daughter Harper (9), who is an aspiring rider and Tanner (2), who is a wild child. Heather’s dog Murphy is the Fox Valley Equine office pup and official greeter.
