Our staff celebrated this special pup's exit from our Parvovirus Treatment Center yesterday with her own clapout. THANK YOU to all who donated to provide her life-saving care - your generosity made her survival story possible!
Throughout her heartbreaking journey, this pint-sized pup has kept her social, wiggly personality, just wanting to be loved. Now let's get Roosevelt out of the shelter and into a home she deserves! If you haven't been following Roosevelt's story, in the last 2 weeks this stray puppy has battled parvo and undergone extensive surgery to treat her badly injured jaw (likely from a dog attack) ➡️ gigis.org/developing-need We brought her and her 7 siblings to our campus as part of a special transport. Within the tik-covered litter, there were multiple cases of parvo, malnourishment, and neglect... and Roosevelt had it the worst. This puppy was suffering from extensive damage to her mouth and jaw, exposed bone, broken teeth, an infected wound, and more. Our team jumped into action, delivering veterinary care she wouldn’t have had access to otherwise. Roosevelt was awake and eating just a few hours after surgery, showing good signs of recovery. Then a short while later, she tested positive for parvovirus, a highly aggressive and devasting disease. Roosevelt was transferred to our on-site Parvo Treatment Center where she received the treatment she needed to survive (again). Thank you to all who donated to support this little fighter in her journey!
